    Description

We are both in our young 60's love to laugh and have fun, well travelled always open to new adventures. Our property is 150 acres of peaceful bliss, lots of tall trees, open spaces, free roaming kangeroos, great walks, we provide our own power and water supply, grow organic vegetables that we sell at a local market. Our only pets are chickens and ducks. John has extensive knowledge from mechanical, building, horticulture and teaches meditation, pats background is business management. Our nearest town is 20km away but has easy access to major towns such as Bunbury . We are happy to help with English language.
At the moment we don't have any accommodation available but if you are willing to camp or have your own camping set up we may have a spot for you.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

This is a different lifestyle as we are self sufficient with food, power and water. This is an opportunity to experience a different way of life, we are both English speaking and willing to help anyone that would like help with English. You will learn aspects of Organic gardening along with knowledge of the Australian bush. You can also learn about mechanics and building. The area we live is classed as Rural so there are mainly farms with cattle around us although we don't have cattle ourselves. It is incredibly peaceful and quiet with our nearest neighbour about 4km away, we drive around our block in an old 4WD but sometimes walk, we have the most amazing sunsets and have great visibility of the stars at night.

As our property is large we need some help to keep the weeds down, so would love someone that is active and fit to use a brush cutter with a blade attachment. Someone that is happy spending a little time in the vege patch weeding but also learning about growing food for a healthy lifestyle. Our property is very hilly and has steep decents so being fit is important.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We live in a very large purpose built shed that we use to live and work in. You will be provided with food and accommodation, (camping with everything supplied)We eat lots of vegetables so you can pick your own and if you like to cook you can, otherwise we will cook for you. We don't eat at set times of the day so you need to be a bit flexible, but always earlier rather than later.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Your time off is your own to do what you wish although you will need some form of transport to visit the South West, such as places like Busselton, Bunbury, Ballingup, Bridgetown, Margaret River etc. Such a lot to see and do in the South, buses run though Kirup 4km from us, and trains to Perth run from Bunbury daily. We go to Bunbury occasionally so you can come along to the markets and meet the locals and look around the town if you wish to. Our place is quiet and secluded so if you love nature and are not afraid of it you will love it.
