    Description

Our place lies between the coast of Georgia Straight and Mt Arrowsmith a bit further to the West, 12 km north of Qualicum Beach. The 5.5 acres is home to 2 miniature donkeys, 5 mini goats including 3 newly born baby goats, few chickens, 2 stock guardian dogs and 2 cats. Couple of sheep will increase the population in July. We do not have anymore alpacas and llamas which were mentioned in the wwoofers reviews. We are developing an organic orchard, and garden, we are also constantly improving pastures and landscaping to establish a wildflower meadows. There is always some light construction of farm buildings including carpentry, painting and maintenance under way. The work is varied and depends on the weather.

Accommodation is in the house and meals are provided, with your assistance often required. Eating is with the family - our palate is variable, non-vegetarian, but vegetarians are welcome. There is WiFi, TV, Nefflix, CDs, books, keyboard, guitar, ukulele(s), puzzles, board games and bicycles to spend your free time. You can also learn or practice knitting and weaving with alpaca fiber, wool or cotton. We are looking for a person who prefers pleasant, environment respecting place, surrounded by forest, not far from the ocean and mountains, have initiative and equally enjoys being with the animals, in the garden or in the kitchen.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Members of our family are "global citizens", combining experiences of living in Eastern Europe, Africa, New Zealand and now North America. There is an opportunity for many lively discussions, exchange of stories and recipes. Apart from interacting with the animals, travelers will also see and participate in environmentally friendly way of life with the aim to become self sufficient as much as practicable. To explore the nature, there are several scenic Provincial Parks and beautiful beaches.
