    Description

Hi there! We're Jacqui and Mike, a family with two small kids who live on a remote 150 Ha wilderness block a couple of hours south of Darwin in the upper hills of the Adelaide River, called Wrigley Creek. We both work part time, and at home we are working to conserve and restore the high quality ecological values of this block.

Our living areas are surrounded by tropical permaculture food gardens and a dam with waterslide access, plunge pool and Wrigley Creek, which flows most of the year with numerous swimming holes. The bush offers views of the valleys, hills and escarpments.

Our home is about 1hr 45 minutes south of Darwin and about 30km south of Adelaide River township. Mobile phone reception is limited, although wifi is available for communications. We also have a landline available for use.

  • Help

    Help

We have a large variety of jobs around the property.
Currently we are managing our permaculture gardens, which include, spreading compost, mulch and managing irrigation. Old/op shop clothes come in handy for managing numerous bananas plants. We're are tinkering away at some building projects and might need some help with painting.
We expect two hours of work in exchange for accommodation only. Some food will be available for harvesting, but please prepare your own meals. And we hope to share the occasional meal together!
Due to our remote location, helpers MUST be comfortable in a remote setting. This role only suits people who are practical. motivated, and have a high degree of resourcefulness.
Minimum stay 2 weeks, longer stays an option for suitable people.
