In some of our branches, there are also long term guests. Some of them are Japanese so you can become friends with them and learn the Japanese language and culture. Maybe you can do language exchange with them. Also the manager in 1 of our branch is Japanese. He'll try to speak to you with easy Japanese if you prefer. (He can speak English also so please don't worry.)
Sometimes, we have a potluck party at our guesthouse and everybody cooks their own food to share. You may be able to ask the long term guests to teach you how to cook some Japanese dishes.
The owner Yumi lives very close to the guesthouses and sometimes need a babysitter who can watch the 5 year old boy and 2 year old boy and also cleaning the house or some computer work. If you babysit the boys and help with other things at her place, you can experience Japanese home life and when Yumi has time you can learn how to cook Japanese food or learn about Japanese culture.
Also Yumi's children go to a preschool very close to the guesthouses. If you are interested to workaway at the local preschool, she can arrange it for you. The children at the preschool are very fascinated to meet people from different cultures. There's also a local after school program that has mostly elementary school children that you can workaway in the afternoon (around 3-7pm). This is a good way to meet local people.
Our guests are from all over the world so you can learn many things from everyone. Some guests are traveling alone so you can go sightseeing with them on your day off or cook together etc.
If you are open to learn new things, there are many possibilities.
This host offers accommodation and payment.
We are looking for *️️️️️️️️️️️️️️happy*️️️️️️️️️️️️️️ helpers at our guesthouse.
(Also a manager if you have valid visa such as a working holiday visa. If we don't have a manager's position available when you come, helpers with working holiday have priority to be the next manager.)
The purpose of this workaway is that we hope the staff to learn different cultures, make friends from all over the world and learn different skills (hospitality, cleaning, etc) in life.
If you are looking for just free accommodation exchange, please do not apply, as this position is not suitable for you. We also ask you to not to use the computer during your shifts that way you can meet more people and it's easier for the guests to talk to you.
We'd like you to help for 1 month or longer.
(We may need help with some other things even if you can't stay for 1 month, so please contact us even if you can't stay 1 month and let us know what you can help us with)
