    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Arica is a highly cultural place, theres a coexistance of different communities: aymara, quecha, afro, peruvian, chilean. There are frequent andine festivities to go, the biggest one the carnival "Con la Fuerza del Sol". We have the oldest mummies in the world, from Chinchorro culture, you can visit them in different touristic spots. From our close friends you can learn about local surfers life and how it has been growing the last 10 years, turning Arica the city with more national surf champions (Yeah, a lot more than Pichilemu!). Our dry and sunny days make Arica a perfect spot to enjoy the beaches in the day and to observe the sky at nights!

  • Help

    Help

The main we need is a very sociable person willing to work in out high season (until the end of March). Main help needed is making beds, cleaning, painting, basic carpentry and probably some basic building. Minimum stays are for 2 weeks, though the longer the stay the better.

Besides that, for our maintenance tasks we prefer carpenteers for working with recycled pallets, painting and photographers to help us with our digital marketing strategy. All the volunteers need to help with the cleaning. If you have artistic talents to make our day to day living better u are welcome to !

    Accommodation

We have a private room for the two volunteers staying longer and a shared room for shorter stays. You will be provided with a basic food basket and total use of the facillities of the hostel: kitchens, bathrooms, swimming pool, barbeque places and entertaining zones. We could provide surf lessons or take you to enjoy the beach depending on the season.

    What else ...

To get to the Surfcamp there is NO LONGER public transport (after COVID) but Uber works well. We have a bike for volunteers and I can give you rides to the beach or to the centre whenever I can !
