  Description

  We are looking for max. two people (2 single travelers or 1 couple) to help us in the first half of June 2024.
  
  The help in and around the house is much, and in view of the coming tourist season, we are looking for helping hands at our place.
  
  We are a family of three: Tashi (from Ladakh), our son Tashi Namgyal, and Cristina (Italian). The village Phyang is situated about 23 km west of the capital Leh.

  The volunteer(s) will contribute to a clean & neat presentation of the guesthouse and its surroundings. While helping the hosts, they also will get to know the local culture, the challenges of a life in high altitude, and eventually learn some Ladakhi words/phrases.

  We live on an altitude of around 3,600 metres. IT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY TO HAVE A PROPER ACCLIMATIZATION before starting volunteering with us. Therefore, do calculate enough days (usually 2 to 4 days) for your acclimatization at Leh before starting to work at our place.
  
  Phyang village is about 23 km west of Leh. It can be reached by public bus from Leh (1 hr), by taxi or motorbikes (in this case we will provide parking).
  
  We are happy for your help. Helping hours daily are around 5 hrs. We will provide breakfast, lunch, dinner. However, you have to come up for your own extra costs like snacks, fruits, laundry, sightseeing or entry fees, transportation, etc.
  
  During free time, the volunteer(s) can go to Leh, take walks in the valley, visit the village monastery and other sights.
  
  Spring is starting in May. The weather gets warmer during the day but is still chilly/cold during night. You need to bring warm clothes so that you can layer up/down accordingly.
