  • Description

We are a young family of 3, that just bought an old farmhouse in Normandy at the begining of last year. We are planning to transform it into a Bed&Breakfast, we are slowly starting the process, but even without that there is always some work to do.
Pierre is a graphic designer that works from home and Tadeja is currently stay at home Mom to Anaïs, soon a year and a half old energy bomb and there's a number 2 coming soon as well.
We are situated in a cute little village, just a few kilometres out of beautiful Bayeux (and it's famous tapestry) and a quick drive from the historical D-Day beaches. Mt Saint Michel is an hour drive away and you can reach Paris in about two hours time by train (from Bayeux). The surroundings offer plenty of possibilities for long walks/biking tours in the nature and there is an adventure park just a short walk away (open from April to September).

Workawayers mainly come to explore the D-Day beaches and learn French, but you are welcome to join us when we go to the Bayeux food market on Saturdays or sometimes Port-en-Bessin on Sundays. We have a bike you can use, it takes you 20 minutes to get to Bayeux and almost the same to Port-en-Bessin. We both speak English, but will be happy to help you with your French.

  • Help

Our next focus is the interior renovation. We want to renovate some of the rooms and start working on our B&B project. There are old wallcarpets that need to be taken down and some of the rooms need to be repainted. So buildind, plumbing, decorating skills etc. are very welcome. We are DIY type of persons and will try to do most on our own. There might still be some work left for the outside, we decide on what is the priority according to the weather conditions and our time. The help is mainly manual and can demand some heavy lifting (but it's more on the rare occasions).

What we need the most at the moment is :

    - help with cleaning
    - painting, fixing the walls
    - plumbing
    - some help in the garden
    - help with meals
    - babysitting
    - a DIY addict! ;)
    - random other stuff that becomes urgent in the meantime ...
