    Description

Hi we are Laurence and Madeleine, an English couple who live in a beautiful old farmhouse near Cordes-sur-Ciel in the Tarn, South West France. The house is a real rural retreat, with lots of space to relax and a swimming pool. There are lovely walks in stunning countryside, literally on our doorstep! We also have bicycles you can borrow. If you are interested in water sports, there is kayaking on the river and wind surfing on a lake, both nearby.

The house is a 10 min drive from a small town called Laguepie, which has shops and two bars, a small market twice a week and a train station with trains to Toulouse. The beautiful medieval town of Cordes sur Ciel is a 15 min drive, and as well as the historic old town to explore, has good shops, restaurants, a bar and a lively market on Saturdays.
Albi, a UNESCO city, with its historic cathedral and Toulouse Lautrec museum, is 40mins drive, and Toulouse is an hour's train ride away. Almost everyday there is a colourful market in one of the local towns, and at weekends, festivals in some of the villages.

We are both very sociable, and Madeleine is a good cook. We eat mainly fish and vegetarian food, but happy to cater for meat eaters.

If you are looking for a working holiday in beautiful surroundings with good food and friendly hosts, then please get in touch!

We are looking for 1 or 2 people to help us restore a large shed/hangar and the space around it, as well as prepare a small field for a glamping project.

The help will involve a lot of physical work, clearing hedgerows/brambles, as well as building work, including mixing and laying concrete and helping with carpentry.

We are looking for people who understand construction, and who can take initiative. Please do not apply if you do not have this experience.
