    Description

Your host is a professional landscape designer, nursery woman and educator
who has studied Pacific Northwest vascular plants and fungi for over 40 years.
We create new garden designs regularly and need help with digging,
transplanting and clearing weeds and rocks.
My good helpers will be treated to picnics and sight seeing tours ...
it all depends on you and your willingness to be helpful.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Assisting my son in constructing a storage and a potting shed for the garden nursery.
He has taught house construction in all phases and owns his own construction business.
I would gladly instruct correct planting of rhododendrons, my nursery's specialty.

    Accommodation

You would have your private cabin in the garden, a large room, former studio, with covered porch.
Your bathroom, at present, would be in my home.
Meals would be shared in my kitchen, primarily cooked by myself.
I share my home with a Bengal outdoor cat called Tiger, and one of my sons, who
    is currently staying with me.

    What else ...

We are close, 2 minutes, to the local bus service: an Express bus plus a
4 times daily second bus line. The Trans-Canada Trail goes by the property for hiking,
biking, I would lend two of my bikes. Canoeing, tubing on the Cowichan River is five minutes down the road and not to forget our beautiful lake, Lake Cowichan, for swimming, etc.
