The environment is a beautiful, tranquil and restful Buddhist centre that is perfect for meditation, contemplation and discovering the Buddhist way of life. The centre is in the town of Llandudno, Wales and is a 2 minute walk from the sea. It is an area of outstanding natural beauty whilst also having modern attractions, including restaurants, theatres, good public transport links to the mountains and lakes if you enjoy walking.
Our mission is about serving others, helping people learn to find peace and happiness individually and in the world by developing a peaceful mind.
The help required is varied. Please come with an open mind of the work you will be doing.
Conversational English language is helpful as you will need to talk with others in the centre.
You will have your own very small room. If you are a couple you will have one room with two beds. (At present we don't have availability for a couple but feel free to inquire in case this has changed ) You will need to be happy in your own company as we usually only have one or two working visitors at a time and evenings can be quiet.
You will have two days off a week giving a great opportunity to explore further the beautiful area of Wales or just relax in the friendly atmosphere of the centre.
As a volunteering visitor, you can freely participate in the spiritual activities at our Centre. In the evenings you can attend General Programme classes on Buddhist thought and meditation or you can attend daily prayers and at weekends we hold Prayers for World Peace. We have day courses and many events to enjoy participating in. Please see our website if you wish to try and time your visit when our courses are on. We are a warm and relaxed community and you will find yourself welcomed into a loving atmosphere.
What we have to offer is varied and provides a perfect opportunity to experience the Buddhist way of life first hand for two weeks or more.
As a Buddhist community, we have rules such as no alcohol, tobacco, drugs, tv, loud music or meat on-site. We also require you to provide a reference.
Short and longterm voluntary visits are available. We ask for a minimum of two weeks which is reviewed on a weekly basis.
