The school has currently two kindergarten classrooms with max. capacity of 20 pupils each, and 40 children in 1 through 4 grade. There are 8 teachers at our school along with two language teachers that work part time.

Our wish to have volunteers has a number of reasons. The main reason is a culture enrichment of both parties (children, staff and that of volunteer) accompanied by language skills improvement of the children.

We are not looking for teachers or even Montessori teachers however it would be beneficial to feel good around children of all ages and be willing to learn about modern ways of teaching, education and raising up.

Native speakers of English are sought primarily but we are interested in other nationalities where English is spoken as first/second language. All our children learn English since their first year of kindergarten and native speakers add the sparkles to their learning through traditions, culture, customs of the homeland of the volunteer.

If you are looking for a volunteer opportunity that provides you the freedom to be yourself with children, participation of the life of family-style medium sized school and easy access to cultural life of "Paris of the Eastern Europe", we could be your next workaway location.

You will be expected to help the teachers during the day, participate in the language lessons, be a partner for children during their breaks, lunches and free work periods to practise their language skills without realizing that, produce learning material (as requested by the teacher), supervise the children during their work, be involved in the sports class and arts. All the above are possibilities to find own personal space in the life of the school and workwaway experience might vary from person to person. But the key expectation from each volunteer is their communication with children in any appropriate situation.

We prefer longer stays, minimum being four weeks and an option to stay longer. We expect you to work 25 hours at school over a four day period. A little household help at the host family is also appreciated, general housework, perhaps some babysitting or shopping.

    Accommodation

Accommondation in the beginning of the stay is provided at the school premises where single room flat is available with kitchen and bathroom (shared by office personnel during working hours). During work at school there will be breakfast/morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack, along with dinner. Later the accommondation would be provided by one of the families.

Host family will provide single room, shared bathroom, meals where requested. When stayed with host family, transportation would be ensured by the host family along their daily schedule if no public transportation would be available at given location.

Depending on the length of your stay it can’t be guaranteed that you spend your whole time with one host family. And of course, if the match with one family does not work out, there will always be an option to move.

Families will appreciate participation in their common life, trips out to the countryside, skiing/skating and other activities of the week as well as spending time with children at home.
