  Description

  Hi ! I am a 67 year old French lady living (but not retired) in the Southwest of France.
  I have been living in this area since 2015. I speak fluent French and English, some German and a little Italian/Spanish (due to my Latin studies a long time ago) I have a little Japanese vocabulary as well.
  I live in a tiny village in the Gascony region (Gers, Occitanie, Midi-Pyrénées). The mountains (for skiing, hiking etc.) and both the Mediterranean and the Atlantic coast are a couple of hours drive away. The city of Toulouse to the east, is about one hour drive away, as well as Agen and Montauban.
  It is ideal for people who enjoy the countryside, wildlife and an outdoor lifestyle. The first supermarket is located 11 km away, first restaurant 6 km. The main town of Auch is a 35-minute drive away with restaurants, cinema, concerts etc. There are many historical sites, old villages, and cultural events all over Gers, not to mention Toulouse.
  There is not much in terms of public transportation, a train station though in Fleurance (20 km) with busses going from Agen to Auch and vice-versa several times a day. You may borrow my car if you have a valid driving license.
  
  Bonjour ! Je suis une Française de 67 ans, et je vis (mais je ne suis pas à la retraite !) dans le Sud-Ouest de la France (for the English translation, see below).
  Je vis dans cette région depuis 2015, je parle le Français bien sûr, mais aussi l'Anglais, l'Allemand et j'ai des notions d'Italien, d'Espagnol (en raison de mes études en latin il y a longtemps), quelques éléments de vocabulaire japonais.
  Je vis dans un tout petit village de la région de Gascogne (département du Gers, en Occitanie, Midi-Pyrénées). Les montagnes (pour le ski, la randonnée, etc.) et la mer Méditerranée comme la côte Atlantique sont à deux heures de route environ. La ville de Toulouse à l'Est est à environ 1 heure de route, ainsi qu’Agen ou Montauban.
  C'est un endroit idéal pour des personnes qui apprécient la campagne et son style de vie. Le premier supermarché est à 11 km, le premier restaurant à 6 km. La ville principale d'Auch est à 35 minutes en voiture et offre des restaurants, cinéma, concerts, etc. Il y a de nombreux sites historiques, des villages anciens et des évènements culturels dans le Gers, sans parler de Toulouse.
  Il n'y a pas vraiment de moyens de transport public, sauf une gare SNCF à Fleurance (20 km) qui dessert Auch et Agen plusieurs fois par jour par autocar. Vous pouvez emprunter ma voiture si vous avez un permis de conduire valide.

  I am a good cook and can organise cooking workshops for you (and would enjoy learning with you your own recipes from anywhere in the world!).
  I can help you with your French. I can teach you how to sew. I am a good ear and help people making their own decisions with their own inner resources.
  I can show you around the lovely Middle-age villages, take you to the public swimming pool (summer only) 10 km away, go with you to a music performance or to the movies.
  I am open to other cultures, and always happy to learn and share views.

  Aide

  After recovering from health issues, I would appreciate help for the following :
  - painting of wooden kitchen cabinet (too dark),
  - sorting/organizing my things,
  - help with the small garden (80 sqm) which needs to be fully organized,
  I cannot accommodate anyone over a week, especially in winter and I can welcome only a single person (no couple) for space reasons: you will have to sleep on a folding couch (comfortable though) in the study/office which I will not use during your stay in order to offer you some privacy, and share the tiny bathroom. Also, If you cannot speak any of the following languages : English, German, Spanish, Italian, French, I will not be able to offer you to come to my place, since we have to be able to basically communicate to spend nice time together.
  
  Après des ennuis de santé, j'apprécierais d'être aidée
  - pour peindre des meubles de cuisine (trop foncés),
  - trier et ranger ma maison,
  - organiser mon petit jardin (80 m2) qui est à l’état brut, peindre les placards de la cuisine.
  Je ne peux pas vous recevoir plus d'une semaine, particulièrement en hiver, et je préfère une personne seule, car vous dormirez sur un canapé-lit dans le bureau, que j’éviterai d’utiliser pendant votre séjour afin que vous ayez un peu d’espace vital, et la salle de bains est minuscule. A noter que si vous ne parlez pas une des langues suivantes : Anglais, Allemand, Espagnol, Italien ou Français, je ne pourrais pas vous proposer de venir chez moi, car nous devons pouvoir communiquer au moins basiquement pour que le temps passé ensemble soit agréable.

  Hébergement

  Apart from the folding couch in the study supplied with clean bedsheets and towel, and the shared bathroom, you’ll get simple homemade food with local produces and products (including wine and Armagnac if you like it). Should you need a vegetarian diet, if would be OK (but I am not good at vegan cooking though). There are cats which come on my outdoor terrace to be fed. They are not allowed in the house. There are plenty of birds of all kinds in the garden.
  
  A part le canapé-lit dans le bureau équipé de draps frais et de serviettes propres, et la toute petite salle de bains partagée, vous bénéficierez d’une cuisine maison simple réalisée avec des produits locaux (y compris vin et Armagnac si vous aimez cela). Si vous souhaitez une cuisine végétarienne, c’est possible, mais en revanche je ne pratique pas la philosophie vegan. Il y a des chats que je nourris sur la terrasse mais ils ne vivent pas dans la maison, et il y a beaucoup d'oiseaux dans le jardin.
