    Description

The sanctuary is tucked away deep in the Tuscany chestnut forest on its own ten hectares of land. The space has been created to provide a peaceful and safe haven for spiritual practice away from it all. We offer Silent Meditation retreats, Tantrik Hatha Yoga Teacher Trainings, Tantra Workshops, Kirtan/ Chanting circles and more. We have just started developing this space in 2018.

Important: Please note that if you wish to study traditional Yoga/ Tantra/ Meditation with us, you are welcome to come as a student (while as a workawayer you would be welcomed to join only a very limited number of sessions as this isn't the objective of your stay with us).

We practice and teach traditional Yoga and the yogic lifestyle as we've spent a lot of time in India and South-East Asia and ran an Ashram in Guatemala for a decade. Coming to the Sanctuary can be an enlightening experience into the many different aspects of Eastern Philosophy and Spiritual Practice (both conceptually during conversations and practically in the day to day life, up-keeping a space dedicated to spiritual and self-development, cooking veggie food beneficial for yogic practice etc). The sanctuary has big gardens with loads of fruit trees and herbs so one can gain experience with local plants. Lastly, we are nested deeply in the forest and offer the rare opportunity to find a peaceful refuge away from the busy-ness of the world and back to nature and ourselves.

We are not just another 'volunteering opportunity' :) Instead we offer a truly transformative experience for genuine seekers through the practice at our place (selfless-service and self-inquiry).

You don't have to be a seasoned yogi to apply, but it would be important to have a genuine inclination towards life as a spiritual journey. Coming here is not for 'customers' or mere 'volunteers', it is for practitioners and students ready to go deeper into self-inquiry in a conducive environment.

Your contribution and the experience at a Spiritual Sanctuary cannot be weighed against each other adequately, so we'd like to transcend the approach of always comparing how much "we get in return". This is a journey of self-discovery for all of us, no more, no less, purifying our souls by offering selfless service

We are looking for people with an Open Heart, Experience and Dedication to help mainly with:
~ Permaculture Gardening: the Sanctuary is situated on its own ten hectares of chestnut forest so there are a lot of opportunities to play and co-create with mother nature; reclaiming parts of the garden gone wild, taking care of and creating more herbal and veg gardens, taking care of existing and planting more fruit trees, chestnut harvest and processing in fall
~ The Sanctuary is about 200 years old and we can always use a handy hand around the house either with small carpentry task, plastering, remodeling etc

As part of the Sanctuary life we get together for an hour of sadhana/spiritual practice per day (usually meditation and chanting).

We believe in life being a journey towards union on all levels and each experience offers lessons that can help us - if we allow it. We are no cult and impose no spiritual dogmas, but we do expect everyone to abide by simple rules for the sake of harmony and to facilitate supportive conditions for spiritual practice.

Please note that we apply a one-week trial period to assure a most beneficial flow between new arrivals, residents and the space as such.

Minimum stay: One month + is a preference
