Come and get to know farm life in Tragwein, Austria!

  Hi!
  We are a family of four (soon to be five): Wolfgang, Jasmin, Patrick (2 years) and Emma (1 year) and we live on a big farm in Tragwein, in the "Mühlviertel". We have got 45 cows to milk, and also some young animals (calfs and bulls). Besides, we also have 2 horses, which, of course, you can ride whenever you want (if you are familiar with horse-riding). The horses would also be happy if you want to ride them or just take care of them. So we have got a lot of work on our farm. Not only the daily work in the stall (feeding the animals...), but also around our farm and on the fields there is much work. We would be very happy if someone is willing to support us a little bit. Moreover, we are also happy if someone wants to help inside the house. We have got about 350 m² living area, which also needs to be taken care of. We recently changed our milking system to a robot system, so the work with milking got easier. But still there is much work!
  The "Mühlviertel" is a great place that offers many opportunities. You can take hiking tours and go to nearby lakes for swimming, or also visit the next big city "Linz" (about 30 km away). Of course, there are also really good riding-trails.
  Besides some support with our farm work, we would also like to get to know new people and new cultures.
  If you like animals and you want to get to know Austrian life at a farm, you are definitely at the right place here. We would be really glad if someone helps us at our farm or also in our house (whatever work you like and whatever needs to be done...).

  Hallo!
  Wir sind eine 4-köpfige Familie (bald sogar 5-köpfig), Wolfgang, Jasmin, Patrick (2 Jahre) und Emma (1 Jahr) und wohnen auf einem großen Bauernhof. Wir sind ein Generationenbetrieb in Tragwein, mitten im Mühlviertel! Wir haben ca 45 Milchkühe und auch Jungtiere, und außerdem 2 Pferde. Daher gibts bei uns am Bauernhof auch immer viel zu tun. Neben der täglichen Stallarbeit, haben wir auch rund um den Hof und auf den Feldern noch genug Arbeit. Natürlich ist auch Mithilfe im Haus sehr erwünscht, da wir eine Wohnfläche von ca 350 m² besitzen und das natürlich auch gepflegt werden muss. Da wir vor kurzem unser Melksystem umgestellt haben und nun einen Melkroboter besitzen, fällt das eigenhändige Melken der Kühe bereits weg. Trotzdem gibt es noch genug zu tun im Stall (Füttern der Kühe, Kälber und Pferde, ausmisten, ausreiten usw...) wenn das möchte. :)
  Das Gebiet in dem wir wohnen bietet auch sonst viele Möglichkeiten. Hier kann man zum Beispiel wunderbare Wanderungen unternehmen, auch in naheliegende Seen oder Bäche baden gehen, oder einen Tagesausflug in die nächstgrößere Stadt Linz (ca 30 km entfernt) unternehmen. Natürlich dürfen auch die Pferde jederzeit geritten werden. Dafür gibt es hier auch sehr gute Reitwege!
  Neben ein bisschen Mithilfe am Hof, ist uns natürlich auch der kulturelle und sprachliche Austausch sehr wichtig. Wir freuen uns sehr, neue Leute kennenzulernen.
  Wer also gerne auf dem Land ist und das Leben auf einem Bauernhof näher kennenlernen möchte, der ist bei uns auf jeden Fall richtig. Wir würden uns sehr freuen, wenn uns jemand auf unserem großen Bauernhof unterstützen und viele Erlebnisse und neue Erfahrungen machen möchte.

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  Travellers would get to know life at an Austrian farm. We are also interested in a cultural exchange and practicing speaking skills in any language. Moreover, we offer typical Austrian food.
  
  Reisende lernen natürlich das Leben und die Arbeit am Bauernhof kennen. Außerdem ist uns auch der sprachliche und kulturelle Austausch sehr wichtig. Es gibt natürlich auch typisch österreichisches Essen.

  Accommodation

  We are living in a big farm-house with a separated flat on the first floor where we have got a guest room. There we have got a double bed and a single bed if needed. Of course, you can also use our showers and toilets. We also have WLAN without limitations.
  
  Wir wohnen auf einem großen Bauernhof in einer separaten Wohnung im ersten Stock. Dort haben wir ein Gästezimmer mit einem Doppelbett und einem extra Einzelbett, dass man aufbauen kann falls notwendig. Natürlich sind auch Duschen und Toiletten vorhanden. WLAN steht auch unbegrenzt zur Verfügung.

  As already mentioned there are a lot of beautiful hiking trails and riding trails you could use in your free time. You could also go to the nearby lake and relax a little bit. The next bus stop is about 1 km away. From there you can go to nearby cities like Freistadt and Linz.
