    Description

Hello my name is Aaron I am born and raised in Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, California. We have 10 acres on the edge of town between Santa Rosa and Sebastopol. We are located a short drive from the beautiful Russian River and the Pacific Ocean, in the heart of one of the finest wine growing regions in the world. I have degrees in landscape architecture, geology and freshwater ecosystems. I am building a permaculture garden, living structures using natural materials, renovating an old barn, and restoring the ecosystem of some natural waterways and vernal pools that are on our property. I can offer a lovely camping experience with dinners harvested directly from the garden, comfortable sleeping accommodations in tents and small Garden homes, and a small campfire for roasting s'mores. The birds sing and the sunsets are lovely with the sound of crickets and many stars out at night. I need help gardening, planting trees, building art and architecture, and restoring the waterway ecosystem. All tasks are non-toxic and safe; there are no dangerous animals on the premises (i.e. no bad dogs or rattlesnakes). I do have a really sweet English Mastiff named Bentley and plenty of sweet farm cats and chickens. There are local turkeys that comes through and many wild birds including beautiful Hawks, Egrets, and Great Blue Heron. I am looking for all kinds of people to come and help and welcome your ideas and knowledge offering much opportunity to tailor your stay for mutual benefit. I hope to learn from you and I hope you learn from me!!! Our local river is a beautiful place to cool off on a hot summer day, and there are many parks with good hiking nearby such as annadel State Park the Laguna De Santa Rosa Armstrong redwoods Bodega Bay Point Reyes and if you like wine the Russian River and Santa Rosa Valley grow wonderful Pinot Noir, Zinfandel, and many more varietals. One of my favorite little wineries on the way out to the river is Joseph Swan.

You will learn plenty about gardening, irrigation methods, natural materials architecture, native plants and animals, conservation, and landscape design. I am also well-versed in geology, chemistry, baking, nutrition (diet for autoimmune deseases), gymnastics, and ceramics ( in fact I'm building my Pottery studio right now and there may be opportunity to throw on the wheel or make things out of clay).

  • Help

    Help

Beside the gardening and the architecture projects there is a natural Waterway running through our land that has been encroached upon. Some cleanup of old Nursery pots and weedcloth as well as Earth work and planting of native plants will be required to bring the area back to its highest functioning capacity. And to offer the resident and migratory Birds a greater sanctuary, as well as possibly create habitat for endangered species such as the tiger salamander. I expect three to four hours per day 5 days per week.
