    Description

We are a small acreage property in Brisbane (just 25 mins to the city) and close to public transport located on the edge of Daisy Hill Forest.

We live in what feels like a paradise with the house set on a ridge looking out into the treetops. We love the bush setting, the peace and quiet, the wallabies and our horses and as avid travellers ourselves (my husband is an alpine climber), we look forward to sharing our wonderful lifestyle with travellers.

We are a family with just our 18 year-old son at home now, two horses, two dogs, a cat plus lots of visiting wallabies.

We live on the edge of Daisy Hill forest so the Australian bush - as well as mountain biking and bush walking - are right at our doorstep. But at the same time, we are in the middle of Brisbane - just 25 minutes from Brisbane city and walking distance to public transport. The beach is a 45 minute drive away. If you like horses, you'll enjoy being part of the daily horse routine. If you want peace and quiet, there is plenty of that. And if you want to get out and do things, then we are close to everything.

  • Help

    Help

The help varies from domestic things like cleaning windows to gardening work, animal care and general farm work .

We have found that pairs tend to suit us best. Or singles who enjoy peace and quiet. There are lovely spaces to relax in but we are not party central (well, occasionally we are but not on a daily basis 😀). We are happy to take singles but are best for those seeking quiet spaces and time for chilling out. If you’re looking a for lots of socialising, then we are probably not a good fit for you.

We have had this property for 6 years and we have completed a major renovation. However, there is still lots to do in terms of generally cleaning the property up, weeding, landscaping etc. And there are always domestic chores such as cooking and cleaning to help with too :-) Or, if you are so inclined, help with the horses.

We are happy to be flexible in which of the above work suits you, your skills and your interests.

    What else ...

We are walking distance to public transport - about a 400 m walk to a local bus-stop and about 2.5 km to the springwood bus transit centre. And it may often be convenient to give you a lift to the bus stop or other places.

If you want to get out into the forest, then you're welcome to borrow a mountain-bike (or just walk).

We hosted quite a bit in 2017, 2018, 2019 and early 2020. And it is nice to have people here again now in 2022. As avid travellers ourselves we are looking forward to meeting travellers again and sharing our wonderful lifestyle.
