If you wish to drop into a little jungle paradise, the Camp is where you want to volunteer. Nestled near Udawalawe National Park, the wildlife is abundant: birds, elephants, monkeys and butterflies will be your daily buddies. From sunrise till sunset, the lake facing the Camp is a marvelous spectacle where you get the chance to observe the peaceful pace of life of the villagers living in the surroundings.
The Camp emerged from the concept which has guided the owners (Vijayanthi and Souhaine) through all of their life « Less is more ». Simplicity, happiness and kindness are the main things you will find out here.
Guests have the choice in between different activies: we organise safari tour at Udawalawe National Park, Safari around the lake facing the Camp, picnic and swim at the river.Arten von Hilfe und Lernmöglichkeiten

Volunteering at the Camp is a chance to immerse yourself in the very rich Sri Lankan culture and to rediscover simplicity as a way of life.
Moreover, the concept behind the Camp is unique. It is an example of how we can only live using local and recycled products. The whole camp is made out of recycled objects such as bottles of wine, champagne or pieces of wood found in the surroundings. Also, this is a special place made to keep the traditions alive and to show that they have a place in the modern world! The Camp is a beautiful example of true sustainable/eco tourism. It is the perfect place to live for a few months for whoever is keen to learn about building a business while respecting the nature, the environment, the traditions and the people.Arbeit

Depending on the workload in the Camp, workawayers are welcome to join the guests on their different activities organised during the day. For example picnic at the river or go canoeing at sunset or sunrise.
Please note that this is a remote area in the middle of the jungle, so in the time off during the day, this is the perfect place to relax, recharge, read and reconnect with nature. As this is an off grid Eco-friendly Camp, we stick to the philosophy of being disconnected so there is no wifi available. We suggest to purchase a local sim card, Dialog and Airtel have the best coverage.
During days off, the volunteer can reach the coast in a few hours. The main tourist spots Ella, Haputale, Hambantota and Galle are a few hours from the Camp and can be reached by bus or by car.Etwas mehr Information

Thank you to Vj and Souhaine to made our stay here unforgettable!
Helping at the camp felt like working for our own family, we felt ownership and this made it so easy and enjoyable to do our daily duties.
We stayed only a month but if we could have we would have happily stayed longer.
