Our organization was founded in 2018 by a local Ugandan named Rachael to address the suffering experienced by children in local villages who have been left under their grandmothers’ care. The purpose of this organization is to improve the quality of life for these children as well as provide the nourishment and support needed for them to reach their full potential. We work to find children from the local villages who have been abandoned or orphaned and are living in poor conditions. We try to bring these children into our home and give them clothes, food, security, education, and love.
Being as this organization is just at its beginning, there are still many components still under development. A house is currently being built in the village with ample space for the children already rescued and for many more children to come. In the meantime, the children are living with Racheal and her husband where they receive 24/7 care and the unconditional love and acceptance they deserve. For those who have some remaining family members, they visit their village each weekend and on school holidays to remain connected to their community.

While with us, volunteers will learn to prepare local dishes and will have the chance to explore local villages where you will meet our families and friends. We can also provide opportunities for volunteers to experience both rural and urban life in Uganda, from enjoying traditional African dances in the village to exploring Ugandan night life in the city.
Previous volunteers have appreciated the opportunity to learn our traditional ways of greeting, dressing, and local customs. We also hope for our children to learn about the vast world and the variety of cultures that exist, and there is no better way to do that than to have international volunteers come and share their lives with us.
We would be happy to welcome any volunteers who are able to provide assistance in areas such as caring for the children, fundraising, promotion on social media, building a house, farming, and teaching English. We are also looking for those with more specialized skills in construction work, providing therapy for the children due to the traumas they’ve suffered, or legal services. Reach out to us and let’s collaborate on how you can best make an impact in the lives of these children.

A private bedroom with two beds and mosquito nets is available in our modern house for our volunteers. We have electricity, a European toilet, warm showers, and a kitchen available for use. Meals of our local food are provided to our volunteers for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as part of the Workaway exchange.
Getting Here: We are located right outside of the town Mbale in eastern Uganda. Our nearest airport is Entebbe International Airport. It takes about 8 hours by bus to reach our home from the airport. An additional option is that we can help you to arrange for private transportation and/or accommodation once you reach Entebbe.
Our volunteers will have ample free time to explore what our wonderful country has to offer. We can help our volunteers to arrange visits to places such as:
o National parks (where you can see the Big Five)
o Prehistoric rock paintings
o Sipi Falls
o Source of the Nile River
o Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (home of the gorillas)
o Mount Elgon or Rwenzori
