Description
We live in a laid back , seaside community on the Sunshine Coast. We are located just north of Vancouver and although we don't live on an island the Sunshine Coast is only accessible by ferry, small airplane or helicopter. My husband and I own 2 vacation rentals- 1 cottage and 1 suite. We are very busy during the summer season. My 2 grandchildren (age 11 & 14) live nearby and are here several times a week. our grand daughter attends a French school and our grandson is home schooled.
The Sunshine Coast is known for outdoor activities of every description. Kayaking, canoeing, stand up paddle boarding, mountain biking, hiking. This is a very popular tourist destination. Our home is just a few minutes walking distance from the nearest beaches. Roberts Creek is known for the many artists in the community. We have excellent public transportation. We have the mountains to the east and the ocean to the west. This is an idyllic place and we feel so fortunate to live here. We love showing visitors our little piece of paradise.

Our Workawayer will benefit from the relaxed lifestyle here on the Sunshine Coast. People are friendly and willing to help visitors from other countries feel at home. Our past Workawayers have spent time with our family doing a variety of activities and generally having a great time:)

Help
We need someone to help with outdoor projects. We need help to build fences, stain our large deck, gardening as well as some landscaping. We also need someone during our busy season - from the beginning of July to the end of August- to help with the vacation rentals. Cleaning, laundry, making beds etc.

Accommodation
We have just purchased a fairly new camper (caravan) that is located beside our home. It is very clean and comfortable and will give our Workawayer a private place to relax.. We will eat most evening meals together (food will be provided for breakfast and supper and our Workawayer may be asked to prepare their own meals) and our Workawayer will be welcome in our home as part of our family.
What else ...
Vancouver, Whistler and Vancouver Island are all within travelling distance. The 40 minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale on the Sunshine Coast will take your breath away! We often see whales, porpoise and many other types of marine life.
We live on a quiet street with fairly quiet neighbours. We are pretty busy during the high season but we manage to go camping, hiking and generally enjoying the outdoors as often as we can. We would like our Workawayer to our family join us for our many outdoor activities. The summers are always warm, sunny and spectacular! We love to show visitors why we love this place so much.
