We as a family travel and live on a classic schooner. We currently based on the island of Langkawi and on occasion sail to Thailand and beyond. We have an extensive maintenance program on for the next couple of months. This is an opportunity to experience the workings of a traditional sailing vessel from the bygone era. We have chosen Langkawi as the place to do this as the island lends itself to a pleasant after work fun activity and down time experience. No hectic pressure, and friendly locals.
What's an island without boat life?
We are an international family and like meeting people from the different corners of the earth and exchange information on different living styles. Of course the experience of the working and running a traditional sailing vessel IS the lifestyle that many dream of
General boat maintenance, sanding, painting, varnishing, rigging/rope work. Technical skills, engine maintenance, marine electrical, plumbing. Everything works, just needs TLC.
Either stay onboard, or we have a house with accommodation, private room, shared amenities.
Food we generally eat together as a family and prefer local cuisine.
Off time, nearby hiking, waterfalls, swimming, horseback riding, sightseeing local craft village and of coarse being sailors, local pubs. The beer is very cheap here and goes down well. It's hot (tropical)
We generally put in a few hours early morning whilst it's cooler, then chill under a coconut tree the rest of day.

We have pets
