Come and be part of our Project, and participate in Permaculture, Agroforestry, Natural Building, Art, and Healthy Living.
The project started 4 years ago by two inspirational Brazilians who wanted to bring harmonious farming practices to the land, rather than conventional mono-cropping with toxic chemicals. It is home to an established organic Agroforest with an abundant and dynamic ecosystem, which provides most of the food to the homestead.
This a large property surrounded by regenerated jungle as well as conventional farms. There is a central Mother House with a large deck, kitchen and living space, and a fire pit. On the property is a beautiful creek for swimming and a fresh water spring, and nearby waterfalls. There is also a magical treehouse, and many types of bird and insect.
The current “Guardians” are Rachel and Mark, two Australians who have come to work on the Project. Mark is a highly qualified Sustainable Development Specialist and educator with a passion for natural building and permaculture. Rachel is a qualified naturopath, nutritionist and artist. She brings a creative approach to the project, and has a special interest in combining health and wellbeing with art.
The Project brings a place to share knowledge, inspiration, music, laughter, love, creative energy, co-creation, embracing growth and balance of body mind and spirit.
The core element of this project is to complete the existing mud brick building, and design / construct an extension for the purpose of volunteer and visitor accommodation.
The building is to be constructed as much as possible using local resources, including recycled timber and windows, bamboo and natural earth techniques. The building will be creative and beautiful.
The building will be interconnected with the existing treehouse and seedling nursery. Components to be completed for the Project include:
- A multi purpose teaching space (rotunda),
- Sacred geometric mandala garden with central medicinal plant spiral
- A sacred mosaic fire pit
- Compost production area
- Tool storage shed with work bench
- New expanded seedling nursery
- And any other ideas that will bring expansion.
