My name is Tracey, co-founding Director of a small non-profit dedicated to the transformation of consciousness in SW Vermont. We are tucked in a 5,000-acre wilderness area in the Taconic Mountain range, close to the NY state border. This is my and my children's home as well as a place where people come to retreat, to connect with others and with nature.
In the summer, we run transformational summer camps for kids and teens. We also are a leading Northeast center for shamanic training and healing. My personal work is about gathering people together in community to share, heal, learn, connect and unfold their personal life work. I am a passionate lover of the forest and all who live there and of the spirits of nature.
To that end, we run weekend workshops in addition to the camps, on a variety of wellness topics (shamanism, shiatsu, permaculture, transition, death and dying are a few). I also see individuals and couples for healing sessions, and we conduct monthly free sweat lodges.
I am also a long-time yoga teacher (student of Shiva Rea, renowned vinyasa teacher), so if there is yoga happening, either scheduled or spontaneous, you are welcome to join.
We are deep in the woods (which is how we like it), but we go to town at least every other day if you would like to join in.

We need help with all aspects of life in the forest: cutting, splitting and stacking wood; maintaining and enhancing our Medicine Wheel herb and perennial garden; helping with some prep for groups; assistance on lawn and grounds maintenance; possible building of a new duck house; occasional pet sitting (two big dogs, a cat, bunch of ducks and chickens); preparing spaces for guests (cleaning tent cabins and the yurt); planting, weeding and expanding our organic vegetable garden; creation of signage for parking and trails; basic trail clearing; opportunities to 'teach' something you are good at during camps.
You can walk out the door and be deep in the forest. There are streams and white quartz rocks and we live at the base of Grass Mountain, on the Top 50 Peaks in New England. It's a two-three hour hike to the top! This land is very 'charged' with beautiful, loving energy from spiritual work that has been happening here since 1999.
If you are interested in deep ecology, spirituality, yoga, nature awareness or shamanism, you will be invited to attend occasional events and learn some techniques from me and others who come here.
You will have the chance to be with people who believe deeply in the aliveness of the land and in co-creating consciously with the place.
We have a yurt where workshops are conducted, and when it's not in use, you can use the space for dance, drumming, yoga, meditation or resting.
English and a little (very little) French.
Bunks in tent cabins (May-October, not heated and no electricity). These are brand new and clean and comfy. You can have your own tent cabin, except for during three weeks and a few nights when the cabins are needed by campers and guests. You can also tent.
Hot outdoor showers, outhouses. Use of kitchen in the main house where we live (a geodesic dome), invitation to join us for meals or you can cook your own.
Close to Bennington College, Cambridge, NY and Manchester Vermont. We are a half hour from a Long Trail Trail Head. Solar Fest, an hour away, happens in July and there are the amazing Vermont cheeses, local organic farms and great homemade ice cream nearby.
Williamstown, Mass isn't far and has the Clark Museum of Art; North Adams, Mass, is 40 minutes and hosts Mass MOCA Arts Center.
We are a little over an hour from Saratoga Springs and Albany New York.
