  My name is Aray and I am an Agricultural and Rural Engineer, after finishing my studies I have considered starting a project to clean and improve the family farm with the aim of transforming it in an eco-rural place to enjoy nature and friends. IMPORTANT: The place is not close of any public transport so you will depend on us to get to a bus stop or moving around. The weekends we go to the village. Also, you should know that I am currently working so there could be days that you will be on your own during the working time.
  A cat joined the family since few months, so take it into consideration in case of allergies :)

  Me llamo Aray y soy Ingeniero Agrícola y del Medio Rural, tras terminar mis estudios he planteado comenzar con un proyecto para limpiar y mejorar la finca familiar con objetivo de transformarla en un lugar "eco-rural" donde poder disfrutar de la naturaleza y los amigos. IMPORTANTE: el lugar no se encuentra cerca de ningún transporte público, así que dependerás de nosotros para llegar a una parada de bus o moverte. Los fines de semana bajamos al pueblo. Por otro lado, debes saber que ahora mismo estoy trabajando y puede ser que algún día no me encuentre en la finca.
  Una gatita se ha incorporado a la familia, ténganlo en cuenta en caso de alergia :)

  You can practice Spanish,English and Italian with us, you can also help me practice French. Also, we can go climbing or surfing together. On the other hand, as an agricultural engineer I can teach you different farming techniques and some of the traditions within Canarian and Spanish agriculture. You will also learn to use different types of machinery (always under my supervision), you will grow your own food and you will enjoy a relaxed environment in the middle of nature without distractions.

  Puedes practicar español, ingles y italiano con nosotros, también puedes ayudarme a practicar francés. Además, podemos ir a escalar o surfear juntos. Por otro lado, como ingeniero agrícola puedo enseñarte distintas técnicas de cultivo y algunas de las tradiciones dentro de la agricultura canaria y española. Igualmente aprenderás a usar distintos tipos de maquinaria (siempre bajo mi tutela), cultivaras tus propios alimentos y disfrutarás de un ambiente relajado en medio de la naturaleza sin distracciones.

  Among the annual tasks that are always repeated are: Pruning of formation and fruiting, cleaning the palm grove and pruning remains, preparation of compost, preparation of the cultivation land, fertilizer, collection of fruits and vegetables, care of animals (chickens) , etc.
  
  On the other hand, tasks that are pending to be carried out: Reconstruction of stone walls, different areas to be painted, construction of fences and fences, reform of the house and cave house, elaboration of geodesic domes for the cultivation of passion fruit (or similar) and other minor projects.

  Nos puedes ayudar de muchísimas maneras, si no has trabajado nunca en el campo no te preocupes, te enseñaremos lo necesario, también podrás realizar otros muchos trabajos: cocinar, limpieza general, pintura, etc.
  
  En la actualidad estamos los proyectos en activo son la finalización de un baño exterior y la finalización de un garaje para el tractor. Además, la lista de tareas por hacer nunca acaba.
  
  Entre las tareas anuales y que siempre se repiten están: Podas de formación y fructificación, limpieza del palmeral y restos de poda, preparación de compost, preparación del terreno de cultivo, abonado, recolección de frutas y verduras, cuidado de los animales (gallinas), etc.
  
  Por otro lado, tareas que están pendientes de ser realizadas: Reconstrucción de muros de piedra, diferentes zonas a pintar, construcción de cercados y vallas, reforma de la casa y de la casa cueva, elaboración de domos geodésicos para el cultivo de parchita (o similares) y otros proyectos de menor importancia.

  Unterkunft

  You will be staying either in a yurt or in a cane house, both supplied with all the necessary to have a cozy sleep. I am currently using the house to live by myself, but it coud be used by workawayers in case of exceptonal need. I also offer accomodation in basic tents and I will provide mattresses and pillows, you'd be welcome to bring your own tent if you wish.
  A meal will always be prepared at noon, in principle anyone can take care of this task, but as a general rule I will be in charge of doing it. In case you are vegetarian / vegan there will be certain times when you will have to take care of your food yourself, having said that, there will be no problem in providing you with what you need.
  
  Breakfasts, dinners and snacks can be prepared by everyone or by you, you will have a variety of products at your disposal so that you can make what you like the most, you can always ask for products that you would like to have for your own consumption (as long as it is reasonable).
  
  We normally don't buy meat, but once in a while we organize bbq for everybody in the weekend.

  Te alojarás en una yurya o en una caseta de cañas y se te proveerá de todo lo necesario para que duermas bien. Actualmente utilizo la casa para vivir yo solo, pero puede ser utilizada por trabajadores en caso de necesidad excepcional. También ofrezco alojamiento en tiendas de campaña básicas y proporcionaré colchones y almohadas, serías bienvenido a traer tu propia tienda si lo deseas.
  
  A medio día siempre se preparará una comida, en principio cualquiera puede asumir esta tarea, pero como norma general seré yo el encargado de la misma. En el caso de que seas vegetariano/a o vegano/a habrá momentos en los que tendrás que encargarte tu de tu propia comida, dicho esto, no hay ningún problema en que preguntes por aquellos productos que te gustaría tener para tu propio consumo.
  
  Los desayunos, cenas y meriendas serán preparados por todos o por ti, tendrás a tu disposición variedad de productos para que te prepares aquello que te plazca, como he mencionado antes, no hay problema en que preguntes por productos específicos (siempre y cuando sea razonable).
  
  Normalmente no compramos carne pero de vez en cuando organizamos una barbacoa los fines de semana.

  Gran Canaria se caracteriza por tener una gran variedad de actividades y paisajes a tu disposición, por desgracia el lugar se encuentra alejado de cualquier transporte público así que dependerás de nosotros para llegar a una parada de bus o para moverte. En los alrededores puedes caminar, tienes acceso a un yacimiento arqueológico y un par de áreas de escalada. Por otro lado, los fines de semana podrás investigar por tu cuenta la Isla puesto que siempre bajamos al pueblo.

  Gran Canaria is well known for the huge variaty of activities and landscapes that you can access, sadly the place is not close of any public transport so you will depend on us to get to a bus stop or moving around. In the surroundings you can walk, you have access to an archaeological site and a couple of climbing areas. On the other hand, the week ends, you have can go anywere because we always go to the village.

  There is not a problem if you are a "digital nomad" the only thing you have to know is that you will have a limited internet conection so if you need more data you will have to take care of it by yourself. No hay ningún tipo de problema si eres un/a "nómada digital" simplemente debes saber que cuentas con una conexión de Internet limitada, por tanto, si necesitas más datos, deberás contratarlos por ti mismo/a.

  We do not really have any problem if you come with your own car/camper we do have space for you to park it, but it is true that we do not have facilities for campervans, such as: black water tank dumps or outside showers. Finally, you have to consider that the road is a dirt-road and we use 4x4 to move througt it, is not that bad, but you should be careful. No tenemos ningún problema si traes tu propio vehículo/camper, tenemos suficiente espacio para que aparques, pero es cierto que no tenemos las instalaciones de un camping como drenajes para aguas negras o duchas exteriores. Por último, tienes que tener en cuenta que se trata de una carretera de montaña y nosotros usamos 4x4 para movernos, no está tan mal, pero debes tener cuidado.

  We are open to any kind of pet, as long as your pet do not have problems with other animals: we do have hens, a dog (or two, depending on the moment) and sometimes there are cats around. If you have a dog or a cat that is friendly with other dogs and cats (and hens) you are welcome. Estamos abiertos a cualquier tipo de mascota, siempre y cuando, no tenga problemas con otros animales: tenemos gallinas, un perro (o dos dependiendo del momento) y, a veces, hay gatos en los alrededores. Si tienes un perro o un gato que sea amigable con otros perros y gatos (y gallinas) eres bienvenido.
