    Description

Nestled in a valley of the world's highest mountain range Sierra Nevada, next to the Caribbean sea; join our journey in delivering a dream eco-hotel experience for our guests!
We have 2 hectares of land sitting next to virgin forest with plentiful creeks and waterfalls to explore, and located a mere 2 kilometers from the entrance of Park Tayrona; where you will find Colombia's most pristine Caribbean beaches.
We are Octavio and Hanna - a Spaniard and an Aussie who jumped off our rat wheel to follow our dreams in creating a magical space to call home and to share with other, like-minded individuals.
Our plan was and has been to build an eco-retreat using as much natural material and processes as possible. This includes cabañas made of locally sourced wood and bamboo, a bamboo yoga space and a huge natural swimming pool that compliments the surrounding environment.
In just under 3 years now, we've built our 10 meter ceiling central kiosk, a 15 meter natural swimming pool, 6 cabañas, a temezcal sweat lodge and a traditional Kougi cabin. Our kiosko sits alongside our huge Cobb oven and most beautiful bamboo shower looking out into the jungle, and this has become the heart of our experience in building, cooking and creating a paradise. We invite you to share in this amazing experience we're undertaking and guarantee you'll have a rewarding time ☺️

They say it's better to know a little about a lot versus knowing a lot about a little, and that is true in our case. We're experimenting, learning as we go... and for all you creative people looking for a break from the continual pace of traveling this opportunity will not only enable you the chance to stop for a while, but will also allow you the chance to create! Share your knowledge and experience and come join us as we do the same.

Update - we need 2 experienced volunteers for December and January 2020 to help with running our retreat - prepping for meal time, cleaning up after service, helping check people in, etc.

For October & November 2019 - it’s low season and we have few guests so now I the time to repair, maintain and build! We’re re-doing a bathroom, building furniture and painting existing structures including our deck. If you’re a builder, carpenter or just generally handy, get in touch with us!

We’re super flexible and like to have fun, and with our guests it’s so far been pretty intimate and relaxed. We’re looking for good energy, responsible and reliable, happy self starters who are looking to enjoy the naturaleza and work in a team environment.

Also ongoing maintenance is required with our swimming pool. It is a natural pool and a lot of work is needed to keep the algae at bay / this takes diligence and attention to detail. Anyone with experience in this area will be highly valued.

We have a cabaña with beds next to our natural swimming pool that you can enjoy. We get a constant supply of fresh water from the mountains, and we've built a nice shower to bath in. You will have your own kitchen to cook for yourselves (we’ll provide the food), and if you’re helping with meal service and there’s more to spare of course you will enjoy that too. We live and eat close to the source - homemade marmalade, bread, yoghurt, etc. It is beautiful here in the jungle, with howler monkeys and fruit trees and tranquility. So this is really a great opportunity if you're looking to reconnect with nature, take some time out, and help us shape our vision.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

There are many creeks and natural water holes around the area to explore, as well as several native indigenous groups you can visit. 2km up the road is Park Tayrona with it's beautiful beaches, and other beaches close by which can be accessed also. There is 3G network on the property (we recommend Claro), and for transport we have a truck. We're looking for only the right people and to stay for as long as possible to get into a rhythm, but don’t stress if you don’t have so long a time to spare - for the right people we will accept you for as long as you have to offer us. Octavio and I both love to cook and I am a beginner yoga instructor, so during your stay you can expect to breathe in lots of fresh air and have the time to reconnect with nature and with yourself, whilst the reward of being a part of creating what we hope will be an incredible space.
