Description
My name is Barbara and, together with Alessandro and his dad Mario, we are a small family, but we have huge parenthood behind us: grandparents, uncles, and bigger brothers.
We live in Milan, the fashion and design city, an incredible town full of opportunities and contradictions, perfectly fitting our Nation: Italy.
Art, culture, tradition, and history are part of us, while we are struggling to conquer modernity and services at all levels.Types of help and learning opportunities

Milan is really in the middle of Northern Italy, in one and half hours you can be on the seaside or skiing and hiking in the Alps, visiting Como and its lake or become shopping addicted at the most exclusive Outlet Malls.
By train, you're less than one hour from Turin, the former capital of Italian Reign, or from the finest Italian cuisine in Bologna and Modena. Florence is only two and a half hours away, but you can also visit Rome, Venice (3 hours) or Naples (4 hours)
We're a very lively family, and we will offer you to come and discover all the hidden secrets of our beloved city, but also we will encourage and help you to travel around Italy while you're here.
We're passionate about history, culture, theatre, and cooking... we'll be happy to involve you in all our activities.Projects involving children

From FEBRUARY 10 to END of JUNE 2024 - MILAN - ONE PERSON - CHILDCARE / LANGUAGE PRACTICE - French speaking
You will be asked to look after Alessandro (who is now 10 years old) from 4.00 pm until I come home from work around 7/7.30pm and not every day. Taking care of him means playing with him, going to the park, helping him with his homework, taking him to some after-school activities, reading to him and with him, and feeding him around 7.00 pm.
We love all kinds of music, Alessandro has become a big fan of musicals in the last few years, he's singing and dancing all the time! He's in a choir, Santa brought him a guitar and he's learning to play it, if you play any instrument you'll be even more welcome ;-)
To avoid disturbing his routine too much, we ask for long stays, at least 2/3 months if not for the whole school year.
French speaking would be a plus!
Exceptionally we may ask you to look after him in the evenings after dinner, he's usually asleep by 9 pm.
You will also be asked to contribute to the household by clearing the table for dinner, using the dishwasher, and keeping your room clean and tidy and the bathroom tidy after you've used it.
That's it!Languages

We live in Milano city center, a few blocks away from Stazione Centrale, 200 meters from M1
stop LIMA (RED Line). You will have a bike at your own disposal to discover the city.
Our apartment is modern and recently renewed, it is organized on three levels, your room is
in the basement, on the ground floor, there is a bathroom, the kitchen, and the living room, on
the first floor, our bedroom, Alessandro's space, and another bathroom (mainly dedicated to the cat !)What else ...
We are lucky enough to have a house in the mountain and another at the seaside, at the weekends we like to escape the city and you are invited to join us. Also in these situations, you will have a room on your own.
We are looking for someone to give Alessandro the chance to practice his English while is easier for him but also to experience the joy of having someone playing with him and enjoy some time together. We had very positive experiences in the past, he really fell in love with the girls taking care of him, and every time they leave he was heartbroken..that's why we wish to host you for as long as possible.A little more information

I stayed with Barbara and her family for about two month from May to July. I had a really good time with them and they made me feel welcome from day one. My first day was very interesting because I got to see Ale sing at a Spring concert on the first evening. His choir is very, very good and it was very enjoyable. Ale is a very bright… read more
