    Description

We run a small outdoor cafe and bunkhouse open from Easter to September each year and are looking for energetic and motivated people to help! We are situated on the beautiful island of Kerrera, 5 mins off the coast of Oban in the west of Scotland. The island attracts lots of walkers and we are positioned in a great location 45 mins walk from the ferry on the south of the island close to Gylen Castle. It's the perfect place to stop for some good homemade soups, cakes and a nice cup of tea! Our bunkhouse sleeps up to 7 people and comes with a converted cow shed with sofas, a wood burning stove and great view of the castle.

We are a couple in our forties who love music (most types, especially reggae, funk and Brazilian). Before living on this tiny, idyllic island, Aideen worked as a drummer/dancer on tour with the stage show Stomp and Martin worked in a community radio station. We're both pretty social and love to get together with our neighbours for bbq's and parties although as we just had our first child in December 2017, we're getting earlier to bed these days! The island has about 70 people living here full-time and there is a great sense of community.

    What else ...

We enjoy working hard and do our best to make it a fun environment- for us and you. We also love good food, relaxing with a glass of wine, watching movies, playing games and enjoying our surroundings.

On days off, you are free to explore this unspoilt, craggy island. We are less than 10 mins walk from the coast and the stunning ruins of Gylen Castle. The island is renowned for it's geology, which in turn lends itself to incredible rock formations and beautiful views. If you fancy returning to the mainland, or exploring other nearby islands such as Mull/Iona, we are only a short 5min ferry ride to our closest town, Oban.

We have a canoe and two bikes that our team are free to use to get around.
