LOOKING FOR STRONG, CAPABLE PEOPLE WITH BUILDING/PAINTING SKILLS, CURRENTLY RENOVATING OUR KITCHEN AND WOULD LOVE SOME HELP. CAN TAKE ONE PERSON OR A COUPLE.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE FROM 11TH/12TH MARCH OR AFTER.

We live in Amberley, 50km north of Christchurch and are converting an interesting older industrial building into a house. We require help with renovating our house and garden. So it's currently a bit of a work in progress so not flash but you will be:
    ~Warmly welcomed and appreciated
~Well fed and watered ( or aled, wined, juiced, coffeed, tea-ed, whatever your pref!)
~Warm and in your own private space (caravan)
~Able to use our wireless internet and bicycles (some electrified), maybe a small motorbike!

Work is usually 4 hours per day, can be flexible i.e. have a day off and work more another day. We usually start with 2-3 days and then may extend if everybody happy.

There is lots to do in the area and we are driving to Christchurch a couple of times a week at least. Amberley is on the main highway going North from Christchurch.

We want you to fit in and be a part of our family so something about yourself in your profile or your email helps a lot.

We have a blended family of 5 grown up children coming and going. The rest of the family is our lovely VERY friendly dog, a half Wheaten Terrier called Dot and our elderly cat Nick.

Nigel especially has travelled extensively, and loves hearing traveller's tales. Nigel (male) is into photography and computers (as a job) as well as fixing and making stuff (currently setting up a small brewery) and all things motorcycling, while Lee (female) is a singer and Qigong teacher and likes computers too! She enjoys crafts, playing ukulele and learning world music so if you can teach her some songs from your own culture, she will be very happy indeed. Lee is involved in a local Interfaith community which celebrates all faiths and spiritual paths. So any or no spiritual beliefs welcomed! We both enjoy gardening, fishing and bush walks, movies, books and music. We are both "foodies" who enjoy cooking. Lee esp is into very healthy food, Nigel not so much! (-:

Nigel is known to help travellers with their cars and has saved a few from disaster.

We enjoy sharing our house, lives and knowledge of our country, and hearing about yours.

We are close to Christchurch and can sometimes meet helpers at the airport. Amberley has a beach, mountains close by, all essential shops and services and is on State Highway 1 so there is some public transport (not always the case in New Zealand!).
I (Nigel) have extensive mechanical experience and I have often helped travelers with their cars. When not working you can experience such things as brewing beer and cider, watching movies/TV from our large collection, and going four wheel driving to get firewood. You may even like to come to work with me as a specialist photofinish photographer at sports events (mostly horse and greyhound racing).
We like to make sure the work is fair and rewarding and that you have a good time and are well looked after.
