  Description

  I grew up in a family in the North of France and after traveling, I settled in the south 30 years ago. Launched in Lodève in the restoration of an old building for 20 years, I tackled the construction of a house. The aim is to create a fulfilling place of residence, learning and inspiration. An ecological and spiritual challenge. The attempt to give concrete form to my childhood dreams, in keeping with my time.
  
  J'ai grandi dans une famille du Nord de la France et après avoir voyagé, je me suis installé dans le sud voici 30 ans. Lancé à Lodève dans la restauration d'un vieil immeuble depuis 20 ans, je me suis attaqué à la construction d'une maison. La finalité est la création d'un lieu épanouissant de résidence, d'apprentissage et d'inspiration. Un défi écologique et spirituel. La tentative de donner une forme concrète à mes rêves de gosse, en accord avec mon époque.

  The discovery of the French language is doubtless a good pretext to come to stay here, even if my experience of host demonstrates the ease to communicate in English ... and beyond the question of the languages, the division of the everyday life allows to arrest the reality, the mentalities, the habits of a life rather rural here, but not disconnected from the modern world. The construction of a house is the main activity which I propose, but it includes so many practices and reflections that it is good in the center of our relations. However, every evening we make one truth cut by leaving the place of the construction site, it is little as another life in the center of the town, where the kitchen gathers us around the table ...
  
  La découverte de la langue française est sans doute un bon prétexte pour venir séjourner ici, même si mon expérience d'hôte démontre la facilité de communiquer en anglais... et au-delà de la question des langues, le partage du quotidien permet d'appréhender la réalité, les mentalités, les habitudes d'une vie plutôt rurale ici, mais non déconnectée du monde moderne. La construction d'une maison est la principale activité que je propose, mais elle englobe tellement de pratiques et de réflexions qu'elle est bien au centre de nos relations. Cependant, chaque soir nous faisons une vrai coupure en quittant le lieu du chantier, c'est un peu comme une autre vie au centre de la petite ville, où la cuisine nous réunit autour de la table...

  Help

  This house called Plaisance was a villa for the summer. To live there year-round, it was necessary to demolish a good part of it and to rebuild a healthier and less energy-consuming habitat. This is how we go from 650 to 50 kWh / m2 / year.
  For this participative site, the structural work being completed, we are now pursuing various arrangements: greening of roof terraces, interior finishing, laying parquet, small masonry work (stone walls), installation of electricity / plumbing networks, etc.
  It is not necessary to have specific knowledge for this site, just two arms, the patience and the desire to experiment with a more organic construction method.
  The house is located in a small path over a river, 500m from the center of Lodève where I can accommodate the participants.
  Lunch break and dinner offered and shared on site or in the building.
  
  
  
  Cette maison baptisée Plaisance était une villa pour l'été. Pour l'habiter à l'année, il était nécessaire d'en démolir une bonne partie et de reconstruire un habitat plus sain et moins énergivore. C'est ainsi qu'on passe de 650 à 50 kwh/m2/an.
  Pour ce chantier participatif, le gros oeuvre étant terminé, nous poursuivons maintenant divers aménagements : végétalisation des toits terrasse, finition intérieures, pose de parquet, petits travaux de maçonnerie (murets en pierre), installation des réseaux électricité/plomberie, etc…
  Il n'est pas nécessaire d'avoir des connaissances spécifiques pour ce chantier, juste deux bras, la patience et l'envie d'expérimenter un mode de construction plus organique.
  La maison se trouve dans un petit chemin au-dessus d'une rivière, à 500m du centre de Lodève où je peux héberger les participants.
  Pause déjeuner et dîner offert et partagé sur place ou dans l'immeuble.
