    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

I love gardening and am interested in Permaculture. Have travelled reasonably well and am open to new people and cultures.

Greytown is a lovely little historic village, with great access to a beautiful region. It's become a bit of a tourist town.

It's got great shopping and really friendly locals. If you are looking for a summer job then you'll be snapped up quickly, and I can help with this.

It used to be called the fruit bowl of the region, but now wine and olives are the main crops here.

Wairarapa has a lot going for it and there is public transport.

    Help

I would like help in the house and garden. I can teach you all about edible weeds, and food crops.

It’s a new, large garden. Plenty of planting out. Seed sowing. Harvesting. Looking after small animals.

You’ll learn how to start out. How to grow food crops, and succession planting.

Please only apply if you can self manage and get on with stuff without too much direction. I’ll show you the place, and you should be able to see what needs to be done in regards to the cleaning.

Abundant vegetables, eggs, and herbs. You will eat a rainbow!

You will need to be fine with pet meat and steak smells. Vegetarians have tried, and whilst they loved their meals, the smell of steak was hard for them.

Also, my child will be fascinated by you, you MUST like children to be happy here. Please do not apply if you do not have experienced LIVING with children.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

I’ve just moved in and there are boxes of books everywhere. Hope you like reading. Would love help shifting the boxes around.

Your room is the office. We can make it more private, with your help. It’s all yours after 8:30pm.

    Non-smoking.

Due to strong interest I would prefer you have a plan formulated and a good reason to visit Greytown before you make contact, this is mainly because I'm answering many emails with too broad date ranges.

Please do not send generic requests as I probably can't make a decision until closer to the time. Short notice is actually easier!

Please commit. I understand plans change, but I will supermarket shop in preparation for you. Only contact me if you are definitely coming.
