  Hello dear volunteers,
  
  nice that you found our profile :-)
  
  We are Thomas and Heike, a married couple living and working on the German North Sea coast, near Carolinensiel.
  
  We live on a farm with our dogs, goats, mini ponies and our llamas and alpacas. Since we use our animals also professionally it is very important to us that they are always well cared for.
  
  If you come to us you will help us with the care of all the animals. This includes work in the stable, but also the occupation with our dogs in the house or garden when we are both not at home.
  
  Regularly we go for walks with the animals, not only with the dogs but also with the llamas and alpacas. Of course you also take part in this, it is a lot of fun. We process the wool of our animals ourselves, we felt beautiful things. You can also help with that if you want to.
  
  We live together with our volunteers like a family. Of course, this also means that everyone contributes to the housework. We want our volunteers to participate in the normal household chores as a matter of course: vacuuming, tidying up or cleaning something and of course helping with the evening cooking - just like in your own parents' house or your own apartment :-). You will have your own room and your own bathroom, it is important to us that everyone has their own space.
  
  Depending on the season, there will be other work in the house or garden - all doable and not difficult.
  
  You can spend your free time - and of course you have enough of it - as you like. We have a bicycle for our guests and you can ride many kilometers along the coast and look at beautiful places. Of course we eat together and of course you can spend your evenings with us, but you should also be able to occupy yourself. Everybody needs a little time for himself :-)
  
  Our place is ideal for relaxation and deceleration. There is no hustle and bustle here and neither noise nor many cars. We are enthusiastic outdoor cooks and spend time around the campfire whenever possible.
  
  Also in autumn and winter we are often and gladly outside at the fire.
  
  If you have any questions feel free to send us a message :-). Before you write please note the following:
  
  We only have space and work for one person. Therefore we always have to cancel couples - please don't write at all.
  
  We only make appointments for at least one month, gladly longer, not shorter. For our animals but also for us too frequent changes are too exhausting :-)
  
  It is absolutely necessary to be able to speak German. Our animals do not understand a foreign language and do not need to learn it. It is also important that you can act independently and see necessary work before we have to say it, we always assume a certain degree of independence.
  
  We eat everything, even if only a little meat from species-appropriate husbandry. That is why we do not accommodate vegans - please find a vegan host, there are very many. Cooking vegetarian is no problem for us, we prefer vegetarian meals very often.
  
  About the Covid situation: You can come to us if you have a certificate of Covid vaccination, otherwise unfortunately not. If you are vaccinated the rules here in Lower Saxony are simple, you can be together without any restrictions :-)

  schön dass Ihr unser Profil gefunden habt :-)
  
  Wir sind Thomas und Heike, ein Ehepaar , das an der deutschen Nordseeküste , - in der Nähe von Carolinensiel-, lebt und arbeitet.
  
  Wir leben auf einem Hof mit unseren Hunden, Ziegen, Mini-Ponys und unseren Lamas und Alpakas. Da wir unsere Tiere auch beruflich nutzen ist es uns sehr wichtig dass sie immer gut versorgt sind.
  
  Wenn Du zu uns kommst hilfst Du uns bei der Versorgung und Betreuung aller Tiere. Dazu gehören Arbeiten im Stall, aber auch die Beschäftigung mit unseren Hunden im Haus oder Garten wenn wir mal Beide nicht zuhause sind.
  
  Regelmäßig gehen wir spazieren mit den Tieren, nicht nur mit den Hunden sondern auch mit den Lamas und Alpakas. Daran nimmst Du natürlich auch teil, es macht sehr viel Spaß. Die Wolle unserer Tiere verarbeiten wir selbst, wir filzen schöne Dinge. Auch dabei kannst Du natürlich helfen wenn Du möchtest.
  
  Wir leben mit unseren Volontären wie eine Familie zusammen. Dazu gehört dann natürlich auch dass sich jeder bei der anfallenden Hausarbeit einbringt. Wir wünschen uns von unseren Volontären dass es für sie selbstverständlich ist sich an den ganz normalen Hausarbeiten zu beteiligen: staubsaugen, mal aufräumen oder etwas reinigen und natürlich auch beim abendlichen Kochen zu helfen – so wie im eigenen Elternhaus oder der eigenen Wohnung auch :-). Du hast ein eigenes Zimmer und eigenes Bad, es ist uns wichtig dass jeder seinen eigenen Bereich hat.
  
  Je nach Jahreszeit fallen bei uns auch andere Arbeiten im Haus oder Garten an – alles machbar und nicht schwierig.
  
  Du kannst Deine Freizeit – und davon hast Du natürlich genug – verbingen wie Du möchtest. Wir haben ein Fahrrad für unsere Gäste und man kann hier viele Kilometer an der Küste fahren und schöne Orte anschauen. Natürlich essen wir gemeinsam und natürlich kannst Du auch Deine Abende mit uns verbringen, Du solltest aber auch in der Lage sein Dich selbst zu beschäftigen. Jeder braucht mal ein bisschen Zeit für sich :-)
  
  Unser Ort ist ideal für Entspannung und Entschleunigung. Hier gibt es keine Hektik und weder Lärm noch viele Autos. Wir sind begeisterte Outdoor-Köche und verbingen Zeit am Lagerfeuer wann immer es möglich ist.
  
  Auch im Herbst und Winter sind wir oft und gerne draußen am Feuer.
  
  Wenn Du Fragen hast schick uns gerne eine Nachricht :-). Bevor Du schreibts beachte bitte noch Folgendes:
  
  Wir haben nur Platz und Arbeit für eine Person. Paaren müssen wir deshalb immer absagen – bitte schreibt erst gar nicht.
  
  Wir verabreden uns nur für mindestens einen Monat, gerne länger, nicht kürzer. Für unsere Tiere aber auch für uns sind zu häufige Wechsel zu anstrengend :-)
  
  Es ist bei uns zwingend notwendig deutsch zu können. Unsere Tiere verstehen keine Fremdsprache und müssen sie auch nicht lernen. Es ist auch wichtig dass Du selbstständig handeln kannst und notwendige Arbeiten siehst bevor wir es sagen müssen, ein gewisses Maß an Eigenständigkeit setzen wir immer voraus.
  
  Wir essen alles, jedoch nur wenig Fleisch aus artgerechter Haltung. Deswegen beherbergen wir keine Veganer – bitte sucht Euch einen veganen Gastgeber, es gibt sehr viele. Vegetarisch zu kochen ist kein Problem für uns, wir bevorzugen meistens vegetarisches Essen.
  
  Zur Covid-Situation: Du kannst zu uns kommen wenn Du ein Zertifikat über eine Covid-Impfung hast, sonst leider nicht. Wenn Du geimpft bist sind die Regeln hier in Niedersachsen einfach, man darf ohne Einschränkungen zusammen sein :-)

  Our workaways have a direct connection to us. We live together under one roof, work and cook together and have our meals together. We take them with us to our friends if they want and they can come with us if we make a trip. Important for us is the communication, we like to talk about the way of life in different countries and cultures. Our workaways by themselves learn here a lot about German culture and historie, about respect and care for animals and about the possibilities for a happy, harmonic and good livestyle. And of course they learn how to spend time away from big cities :-). We can help you by learning the German language.
