    Description

We are a bilingual English/German speaking family ( New Zealand/Germany ) and living 70 km away from Berlin in a town called Fuerstenwalde.
    We are a family of 5 ( mum & dad and 3 children 18 y, 16 y and 11 y ) with 1 cat ( Sharie ) and 1 dog ( TUI ).
You must like dogs and cats as these two are part of our family 😊
Due to Corona the last few years we haven’t had regular volunteers but starting back to welcoming volunteers from time to time as we think it’s a nice experience for everyone.

We have a beautiful house with a small garden in a nice and peaceful Neighborhood.

We are looking for an independent, happy, friendly, tidy and helpful female volunteer ( over 20 years old ) to help around the house and garden.
Your work will include some light housework, cooking, help with the washing, preparing food and sometimes take the children to their activities or pick them up from school.

Mum is a Flightattendant and is away a few days a month.
But while she is home you will have extra days free for yourself to explore the area, do German classes, learn more about the culture or whatever interest you.

So more than anything we are looking for someone who is kind and patient and who'll enjoy being part of a busy and fun family and loves being around kids and a dog and a cat.
We used to have Volunteers while living in New Zealand for almost 9 years and have been really enjoying the company from all over the world. It's a great opportunity for us as a family to learn about life and culture in different places around the world.
If you can cook us your favorite national dish and teach us the recipe we will be delighted.

    Non - smokers please
We ask you to provide at least one reference if you can and we would like to chat via video call
( WhatsApp, Zoom, Teams, Messenger or whatever is best for you ) before you arrive.

In your free time you can visit Berlin and surroundings. Your working hours are flexible, so if you plan to attend German courses we can work around these hours. The main hours would be Mo-Fr afternoon and you have time for yourself in the weekends.
Note: The hours of help are very flexible but we are not hosting for cheap accommodation, you need to be able to help 4 - 5 hours a day from Monday to Friday as this is a exchange and not couch surfing 😉

Come to our busy household and help where it is needed.
Sometimes you need to pick up our youngest daughter from school or from the bus stop.
So you must feel comfortable using public transport!
We live in a lovely house near a forest there is lots of space for everyone and a small garden to enjoy.
If you happy to help out a bit and share your culture with us then we are looking forward to meeting you.
Please note we have a older bossy cat and a friendly , young dog ( black Labrador) . The dog loves to be taken out for walks, so experience with dogs would be cool.
