Are you are a horse lover, outdoors and sporty? This is an amazing summer season opportunity for an enthusiastic, hardworking couple or a pair of friends who want to experience French life and maybe learn to speak French or improve their French.
Who are we: We are a family of five with 3 kids aged 15,13,8, one dog- a very friendly black lab, a rabbit and five horses who are stabled at home. We love the outdoors and enjoy many sports: walking, riding, running, cycling, tennis, camping, cooking and surfing. We live in Condom, Gascony, South West France.
We have a very busy wedding planning business and my husband is a chef so we need some extra help at home . We are looking for an independent, handy, energetic couple or friends to help us run our busy household which means cooking, cleaning, washing, looking after the animals, babysitting/entertaining the kids and basic DIY jobs.
If you wish to improve your french we can arrange lessons locally
If you love horses, we have four at home, so you can help at the stables and get to know them and if you can ride you are welcome to join us on a ride, we compete regularly so you can come along with us when we go showjumping or eventing.
Odie our dog loves to go for walk and we are surrounded by beautiful countryside.
Our kids are very sporty and love the outdoors, there is a local swimming pool that they go to often, a tennis club that we are a member of and we love walking, when we have time we try to get a walk in the mountains and go camping. We are fluent french and english speakers and the children also study spanish in school.
In return for your help, we offer your own private accommodation. You will need a drivers license valid in France. For people who travel without their own transport, we have a car which you can use ( manual, left hand drive)We prefer couples that can stay for a minimum of 3 weeks so you can get to know the kids and the animals, if you can stay longer even better.
We live in the remote countryside with no direct neighbours but just a short walking distance or cycle into town.
The nearest town is Condom, 5 minutes. TGV & railway station is Agen and Bordeaux and Toulouse are both on 90 minutes.
Pyrenees mountains in 2 hours, Atlantic Coast on 2 hours, Mediterranean Coast 3 hours,Barcelona on 5 hours, San Sebastian (North Spain) on 3 hours.
We live in a perfect spot if you want to explore France, the Pyrenees or Spain, there is a lot to see around here!
You will have time for yourself to explore the area or further afield, Toulouse and Bordeaux with fantastic shopping sightseeing and museums if you need a city fix, the Atlantic coast for surfing and sunbathing and the Pyrenees for trekking and camping adventures. In the local area there are many music and dance festivals and night markets to enjoy plus plenty of wine tasting and gastronomic menus to sample.

We will provide your accommodation and all your meals/beverages during your stay. We can also arrange French lessons if you wish to learn the language. In addition you will have the opportunity to experience a true French lifestyle living with our family
We are also very sporty household and have five horses so there is the opportunity to get involved with this, football, cycling, surfing and mountain walking

Help
At Home: We require help undertaking a variety of chores, these range from general cleaning of house, general gardening (mainly grass cutting), decorating, cooking family meals and babysitting.
Help would be 5 days a week with two days off. We will do our best for you to have two days off together but it is not always possible with our work schedule.

Accommodation: We have a spacious luxury 7 berth caravan in our garden for your use, you will have use of one of our bathrooms and our kitchen in the main house and also a BBQ

Where we live: Condom, Gers, South West France, here you will find plenty of shops, bars, restaurants, park, river, swimming pool, walks and cycling routes all within walking distance or on a bike. There is a fun packed summer programme over the holiday season with festivals and night markets. We are also member of a tennis club
There are some beautiful walks all around our house and we also have bikes you can borrow. We are situated close to the Camino de Santiago, a couple of hours reach of the Atlantic coast, 3 hrs from the Mediterranean. We are ideally located if you are en route to/from Spain. Nearest TGV railway station: Agen ( 30 min) and Toulouse ( 90 min) ; nearest airport Toulouse. Please note that this is a very quiet rural area with little/no nightlife and limited public transport.
