    Description

We are a British couple, both early retired teachers of Design with one teenage son who have been living in France and Switzerland for 10 years. We have our own English language teaching enterprise that we run from our home where we teach French students English through woodwork and other craft and cooking projects. Our pets are two outside cats and a pet rabbit!
Our home is a typical charming Bourbonnaise house that we are slowly renovating in between teaching.
Paul is a very experienced woodworker / engineer. His sport was white water and sea kayaking. Now we have a Canadian canoe and some kayaks for using on the lakes and rivers near here. Deborah is a very keen gardener, jam maker and lover of all things creative. We are both very open, sociable people who have lived and worked in different parts of the world and welcome the chance to meet new people and learn about different cultures. We really enjoy the quiet rural life of France, the food and the wine and the chance in the evening to sit and appreciate the peace, tranquility and beauty around us.

    What else ...

We live in a very small village that has limited facilities, so if you have your own transport that is a bonus. However if you are happy to go with us to occasional trips to the city of Moulins and our local town of Bourbon L'Archambault then you will be able to enjoy the interesting history of these places. We are happy to collect you and return you to Moulins railway station if necessary. We have numerous good quality bicycles available to use.
Our son is away Monday to Friday at Lycée so it will just be the two of us hosting you during this time. We have a diverse group of friends, French, English, Dutch and Irish who we see occasionally, but we are all busy with our own projects!
