We are an organic farm located a few meters off the coast of Huelmo, about 45 minutes south west of Puerto Montt, Chile.
We work with biodynamic and permaculture techniques in various aspects and have free-ranging chickens, ducks foraging on the beach, a horse, dogs, and a good handful of outdoor cats.
Our garden is on the hilltop overlooking the ocean and is a bountiful vegetable and medicinal herb production system with cultures of raised hügelbeds (wooden cores creating a water retaining reservoir of nutrients) and borders of rocks from the beach (to catch and store heat). Through the application of biofertilizer, compost, bokashi, mussel shells, and mulch soup a healthy and productive ecosystem is generated and sustained.
We prioritize valuable learning experiences and the good and peaceful life.
We practice principals such as self-sufficiency, bartering, utilizing local resources, listening to and working with nature, and taking time to observe and contemplate as we develop positive connections with the land and its people.
We welcome you who are interested in permaculture and natural building techniques, those willing to learn about a different way of life and enjoy a community focused lifestyle.
We would love to receive anyone with previous sailboat experience or would like to learn about sailing! We are restoring a sailboat that we will be putting in the water within the next couple of months. Please let us know!

We strive to live a balanced, healthy life.
By participating in our holistic lifestyle, there is no doubt you will learn something about the environment and yourself you did not expect. We also are passionate to be more self-sustainable and welcome new ideas and perspective on the farm.
We have lots of projects throughout the farm and there is always something interesting to do including long term and short term projects. Examples being... maintaining and expanding the garden, fence building and maintenance to keep sheep and other animals out of the garden, feeding and caring for the animals, picking up rubbish from the beach, using creativity to build with recycled materials, earth bag construction, bee keeping, making dry bathrooms, sailboat restoration and sailing, natural farming methods such as nendo dango fukoka's technique, maintaining a clean home and cooking creative meals, chopping and collecting fire wood for hot water, sharing thoughts and ideas in a welcoming environment.
We work with food preparation and conservation and recover fresh fruits and vegetables from local markets to produce jams, sauces, pickles, and fermentations. There is also an opportunity to collect food in the markets and mingle with the locals.
Our biggest project during the Summer months is the construction of a strawbell, roundwood timber frame house using different natural building techniques. We would love to receive anyone with previous construction experience or knowledge!
We have a beautiful sailboat from 1987 that we are fixing up and will be putting in the water SOON. This is a great oppurtunity for anyone who is interested in learning about sailboats, has an interest in sailing in patagonia and especially if you have any previous sailing knowledge or experience. Please let me know in your message if you are interested in sailboats!
In general we are looking for passionate, open-minded people (individuals or couples) who are interested in staying with us for at least 2 weeks.
We also offer an internship position for 6 months to a year that would help oversee volunteer aspects on the farm as well as some major projects. This is an opportunity to immerse yourself in permaculture, biodynamic and holistic living as you learn different aspects of farm work throughout the seasons.
We are also very interested in physical rehabilitation skills, such a kinesiology, yoga, physiotherapy and anything related to spinal cord injury treatment.

We have various bedrooms to share and provide 3 meals a day which are shared together. The meals are healthy and consist of lots of vegetables, occasional seafood, homemade sourdough bread, and gifts from the garden and our feathery friends, we generally provide oats for breakfast. Where we are located we have the oppurtunity to easily collect mussels and other sea life and include them in meals.
We provide 3 nutritious and bountiful meals per day but we do not practice an open kitchen since the ingredients we have are used to cook meals for everyone throughout the week.
There are small neighborhood markets within a few minutes walk where you can buy snacks however the nearest supermarket is a 30+ minute bus ride away, so if you need to snack lots between meals I recommend bringing your favorites with you before you come (Puerto Montt has lots of affordable supermarkets).
To arrive from the bus terminal in Puerto Montt take the bus to Huelmo (with final destination: San Agustín) takes 40 minutes aprox and drops you off directly at the farm.
Another option is to take the bus to Calbuco (there are 2 different routes from Puerto Montt, you need to take the one that goes by the coast...por costa) and get off at Huelmo. The Farm is then about 1.5 kilometers walk.
Sometimes we go to Puerto Montt and can arrange rides.
On the weekends we encourage you to explore and get to know the area. Puerto Varas, Volcán Osorno, Saltos de Petrohue, Frutillar, Calbuco and Cochamo are all accesible from here by bus or by hitch hiking.
