    Description

We are a married couple with twin 4 year old girls living on a beautiful hillside with 2 lakes - great for swimming, kayaking, and hiking - in Co. Donegal, near Donegal Town. We need help with building an eco project, so if this is of interest to you please contact us.

We are building a large and unique eco-friendly building which will be a reciprocal-roofed roundhouse with straw bale walls and an earth/grass roof. This will be a communal building for glamping guests and will have a kitchen, dining & living areas, loos and showers. We are under pressure to have it finished by the summer so we can open our new glamping business with yurt accommodation - so we need all the help we can get! Some building/construction experienced beneficial but not essential.

*️️️️Latest update*️️ We have pretty much completed our eco building now. However, we still need help erecting some yurts and anyone with carpentry experience is particularly welcome.

Other work available, general maintenance, chopping firewood, light cleaning, gardening as well as some outdoor landscaping.

Travellers can sample what a simple rural lifestyle is like in the beautiful West of Ireland. You can also learn about traditional and eco methods of building. There is also opportunity to meet other like-minded travellers from other parts of the world, as we usually host more than one at a time.

Everyone works and eats together midweek. At weekends, as we have two very young children, we try to have family-time, so travellers are free to hang out together and enjoy the land here or go exploring beautiful Donegal or further. As we live on-site we're always here if you need us however.

We live in the wild and beautiful countryside of Donegal on the Wild Atlantic Way, overlooking two lakes, wildflower meadows and hills with views of Donegal Bay. We are setting up a new glamping business with yurt accommodation to open later this year.

We have just finished building our eco lodge. We now need help assembling 3 yurts. Anyone who has some experience doing this or has any carpentry/building experience are particularly welcome although it's not necessary!

Other work; general maintenance, chopping wood, strimming, clearing paths, cleaning, feeding animals and help with our vegetable garden.

We are 15 minutes from Donegal town on the North West coast of Ireland. It is an area of great natural beauty. 10 minutes from Rossnowlagh Beach - good for surfing. Great for hiking & cycling. There are lots of adventure sports in the area. We are on the Wild Atlantic Way - halfway between Ballyshannon and Donegal town. Both of which have regular buses to Dublin/Airport. There is also a great pub 5km away which has live music and a shop attached. The nearest village is 5km - it has a pub, a small shop and a post office.

We would also like to remind non-EU volunteers that they may need a work or working-holiday visa to do Workaway in Ireland - if you do not have this type of visa and you are only entitled to come to Ireland on holiday then you are not allowed to do voluntary work in Ireland.
