We are now actively recruiting for our 2024 season!

Our season runs from April to October only.

This is an English camp and immersion program in Germany. Kids, families and adults learn English in the most natural way. Our international team stay on our week long camps within wonderful nature, a little bit far away from civilisation. Most staff live in Berlin though and we provide a cool community of artists, musicians, outdoor and nature lovers. Colourful and diverse. Sustainability is super important to us. We provide a wonderful community and lots of experiences. The people working for us come from different countries around the world. If you were to join us at the start of the season, you would also profit from good training too. You will gain lots of experience: working with kids, teaching English, cooking for big groups, living in and with nature, learning about gardening. You will eat the best organic homemade food and meet people from all over the world. We pay our regular wage (between 85-105€ per day for your first camps) and you'll have free accommodation and food. The Language camp is a place of cultural exchange, a unique learning environment for kids, families and adults and a workplace in some of the best parts of Germany.

We are an English camp for German kids and families on a farm. Your work would be: English teaching for kids, families and adults. There are a few different roles you could take at camp, such as counsellor, general helper or driver.

If you were available for a good stretch of time (such as a couple of months or more), you could train up as a counsellor, where you will have a group of 4-6 kids. The whole group will consist of maximum 30 kids, ca. 5 counsellors and 2 teachers (that bring the groups) . You will cook 1 vegetarian meal per week for the whole group, provide a workshop/ project (arts/crafts/music/nature/gardening etc). You will do outdoor activities, like hiking and sports, and canoeing. You will work as a freelancer (so you are required to have a freelance German tax number) and will get the chance to try many different fields (according to your abilities and skills). We offer school camps, holiday camps, canoe tours, Music and Art camps, Sport camps, Family camps etc. To work in this role, directly with kids, you must have a police background check available, and a 'red card' (a health and safety certificate for working in catering).

If you can drive and hold an EU or International driver's license, we could offer you work as a driver for our canoe tours (only late June - late August). Ideally we look for an outdoorsy people who have a great love for nature and an environmental consciousness. Although the job is not working directly with kids, if you have experience with kids, all the better. The role also involves setting up camp before the canoers arrive, doing the shopping on the way to the next campsite, packing up the van each day and generally helping to support the camp as they tour 100kms down the Saale river (Thüringen). You must should also be comfortable driving on the Autobahn, and ideally also have experience driving a van with a canoe trailer. This is a role that potentially could be done as a pair too.

Since both roles are quite involved and require a degree of training, it is difficult for us to offer a workaway experience to those who are only available for a week or two. We are very happy to hear from you if you are available for a longer stretch of time though!
We look forward to hearing from you.

The Language camp exists since 2001 and we've touched many kids' hearts along the way. We now have different locations across Germany, all of them unique and rural and placed right in the nature. The kids learn English as a result of daily activities (no classroom) and we provide much more: sustainable living, nature protection, living without technical equipment (the kids) for 1 week,...
