    Description

    ***Work visa required***

We have a vineyard that grows grapes for wine in the desert. We do not have a winery yet, but it is our dream to establish one on our land available. We grow our grapes in a biodynamic manner (not organic; a step above), meaning we don't spray our grapes, since we don't have disease and don't spray the weeds either. Our wine is completely natural, no sulfites or any other chemicals are added. We use the services of an established winery at present.

Our first harvest was late summer 2016. We also grow herbs and produce essential oils from the herbs we grow.

We are Hebrew / English speakers a little older in years (65+) but young at heart.

We take Workawayers for a minimum of one week and typically up to a month. For Workawayers that are in possession of a valid work visa for Israel, we pay you for your hours worked.

PLEASE NOTE: We prefer couples and Workawayers who travel together (at least 2) for company, since we don't live on the farm. It can be lonely in the evenings, also for our peace of mind. We would like you to do your travelling before or after your visit with us, since our work on the farm is seasonal and we invite helpers according to the needs of the farm.

There are other workaway hosts in our area. The Workawayers get together often just to hang out and share experiences.

We prune the vines around mid-January and pick the grapes around mid-July to mid-August. Rest of the year keeps us busy with farm maintenance - weeding and keeping the farm tidy. Essential oils are produced mainly in Spring and in the Fall.

There is a train from Ben Gurion Airport to Beersheva, our nearest city. You need to change train at Hagana station (it is announced on the train); to get off the train at Beersheva main station (not Beersheva North).

The # 140 bus from Be'er Sheva, platform # 21 comes to our area. Please be in touch with regards to arrival times as not all the buses come into our moshav and we have to meet you on one of the neighboring moshavim.

In Israel there is no public transport on Friday afternoons and Saturday so it is best to plan your arrival at the farm on a Sunday or a Monday.
