My name is Finn. I live in a remote village in south-west France, some twenty minutes from the small town of Périgueux. I have recently moved to my family home and now have charge of it.
Thus, I am looking for assistance in bringing the garden and courtyard back to life; the way it was some years by. My background has predominantly been in wine and education and the house I reside in is full of interesting books.
Although the garden and courtyard are not in a terrible state, I would be grateful for some help during the day.
I enjoy cooking and entertaining. I am fluent in French. I have one of my sons who lives on and off with me here.
I have plenty of space but am limited to one small shower room. Please feel free to contact me. Good luck and safe travels.
Help in the house
Gardening : raking, mowing, pruning, tidying, possibly preparing a vegetable patch.
I have double or single rooms, a kitchen, living room, dining area, library which all in all make for quite a spacious house, with plenty of areas for relaxing.
It would be preferable for volunteers to have their own transport. That said I do make the occasional trip to town.
Discovering Perigueux is like looking through a history book. The history of the town is extensive. By visiting the Art and Archaeology Museum in Perigueux you will journey back to mankind's origins by means of the numerous prehistoric exhibits.
The town's heritage will take you back to the magnificence of the Roman Empire with its many architectural remains and its Gallo-Roman Museum Vesunna which will allow you to appreciate the riches of the antique city of Vesunna. Vesunna, the town, was also a goddess surprising for her proud and majestic temple.
Strolling down a medieval side street, walking from square to square you will encounter half-timbered houses and the sumptuous residences of rich Perigueux merchants, endowed with lofty towers!
