    Description

Come visit one of the most biologically diverse places on earth while you help to build its regenerative future! We have many projects going on that need different skills and knowledge. For example, we need help with creating more structure in our projects, optimising our website and social media channels, practical technological support, gardening, and other maintenance work.

Our mission is to create a community and local economy in Osa Peninsula that co-lives with and supports its natural beauty. Therefore, we are co-living in a way that has the most positive impact on our environment. We aim towards the least waste possible, care for each other and the place, and other things to minimise our negative pressure on our environment. Household upkeep (cooking, cleaning, tidying up the space, etc.) are shared responsibilities and are, therefore, part of your life here. English is one of the spoken languages on-site because we are an international team. However, we prefer to use Spanish as much as possible since we act in a Spanish-speaking country and work with a lot of locals. Therefore, speaking Spanish and/or being open to learning is quite important for us so our projects can are enabled to make the most impact possible.

  • Help

    Help

We work on our projects in an emergent way and from our own talents. Therefore, we will match the skills and experience that you want to contribute to the projects we’re working on. Based on this philosophy, we can't give specifics of help needed based on your skills, experience, and desires. However, the areas checked above are most of the areas that we have projects happening that we could use help with right now.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

In exchange for your help, you’ll be provided with a bed in our volunteer dorm that houses a maximum of 3 people. There are options for a private room in case you prefer that as an individual, a couple, or family in exchange for an added contribution. You’re provided with a fully equipped kitchen, bathrooms with indoor and outdoor showers (only cold water) and a big communal space. We try to eat together as much as possible but due to different schedules and diets, we organize that on the day itself dependent on each individual’s need. The preparation and clean-up of the meals is not included in the volunteering hours.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

In return for the learning journey, place and opportunity to live in the Osa we ask for a minimum contribution of 15 hours a week. Because we want to fully enable you to experience this beautiful gem as deeply as possible, the hours are flexible and dependent on the schedule of the projects and your own. There are so many places to explore in the Osa. Bike riding, swimming, fishing, hiking and kayaking are some of the fun activities to do while being in Puerto Jimenez. For more hiking, wild beaches and experiencing the 2.5% of the earth’s biodiversity, just head south or north out of town! On site, we offer the opportunity to make music, art, practice yoga, growing food, and whatever else feeds your soul. All the transport options are within waling distance, including a bus, colectivo, ferry and hitchhiking!

    - About Us-
This is a cooperative center and community hub in Puerto Jimenez in the Osa Peninsula. We serve the regional community through initiating and accelerating regenerative projects and offering space for community connection. All the projects that we are working on, are striving toward reactivating local connections between people and places. We initiate, facilitate and connect the diverse communities in a way that promotes and celebrates the totality of equity, biodiversity, and culture present in this region.

Through our work so far, we have already learned that a thriving local community and economy that celebrates and honors the abundance of the OSA peninsula is not only possible but is already in motion. However, there is always more to do, and help needed to bring us to the next stage of our regenerative society that co-lives in harmony with one another and nature.

    Space for parking camper vans

While not ideal, we do have a space for a campervan on site. Depending on the size, it would need to be parked outside the gate during the day. There are communal showers, toilets, and a kitchen on site that lends itself well for campervan usage.
