    Description

Hello! We are mainly a family of two: mother (53) and my homeschooled daughter (15). We live in Tenjo, a town of 12,000 people in Cundinamarca, Colombia. I facilitate workshops and coach people on anti-racism and anti-oppression work, as well as decolonisation and anti-fascism. My daughter is into geopolitics. This opportunity would particularly suit someone local (from within Colombia) who wants to improve their English and loves politics. However, another option would be to talk about politics with my daughter in English, help with gardening and cooking, and then practice your Spanish with our lovely neighbours who are into yoga, sustainability, yurt building, etc. They are all native Spanish speakers. We also have neighbours who would love to have a native English speaker to teach them English.

Two options here: 1) You are fluent in Latin American Spanish and love politics. My daughter needs to practice Spanish and would love to learn about politics. We can also ensure plenty of English if that is one of your own goals. We should talk, in advance, about expectations if we end up needing you for fewer than 5 hours per day. 2) You speak English, want to practice Spanish, and love politics: You could talk about politics with my daughter and hang out with neighbours and family who speak Spanish as native Spanish speakers. You could also teach English to neighbours. Maybe you will cook a little, and help with the garden.

Transport is great: buses directly in front of our house go to north Bogotá (Calle 170) (about an hour) and to the middle entrance to Bogotá (Calle 80) (45 minutes). Tenjo and neighbouring towns have a lot of cultural events.
