    Description

    Hello Workawayers!

We are a bunch of inspired people and we believe we can change the world!

We have 10 large projects going on. We need inspired and enthusiastic volunteers.
First I will give some explanation about two of the 10 programs we run.

Because of the rising fruit prices many low income families cannot afford to buy fruit.
A lot of these people only have limited access to rice or potato, full with carbs but not nutritious. Currently 70 million children are malnourished in India (source UNICEF). Availability and accessibility to nutritious food is a global crisis

Our desire is that everyone should have access to fruit and not just those who can afford it.
Fruit trees have a great effect on the biodiversity and attract a wide range of animals from insects to birds to mammals.

We have the goal of planting one million fruit trees this season in areas where they are needed most.
How are we going to do this?
Right now we are visiting schools and asking students to start collecting fruit seeds. At the school we are making seed banks where students can deposit their seeds. Right now 135 schools have established seedBanks and students already collected thousands of fruit seeds! We are very excited about our momentum!
Then these seeds are planted by student volunteers to create public orchards. Seeds are sowed on roadside, public parks, river side and mountain side. The idea is to fill any public places with large number of fruit seeds. The dream is to create a transformed society where no one will call anyone thief. Trees planted close to the schools are taken care by student volunteers who serve as tree guardians. If there is no place at the school for planting seeds and if there are surplus seeds, these seeds are shared with other volunteers who plant them in other locations. Student volunteers work very closely with DFO (District forest officer). When you join you will help establish seedBanks and fruit tree - public orchards.

We want to plant more trees then trees being cut across the world.
We want to change the colour of the google map of India from grey to green.
We want more fruit trees outside boundaries in public places.

Our other project is one that provides quality education for free to Kids who are prone to dropout.
For this project we invite you to come and give lessons in whatever subject you want. For example Music, Art, English, handicraft or make a presentation about your country, its up to you, these kids will be super interested.
There are many ways you can help out, we wil encourage you to come with ideas on how to improve this organization. You are very welcome.

In exchange we will provide a 3 bed dorm accommodation plus bathroom and food. In your free time you can explore this incredible city. Our staff will guide you and bring you to secret gems in Delhi.
