I am a single male with two children who mainly live away from home at the moment. One is still at University, and the other is taking a "gap" year after having just graduated. I am a Chartered Engineer by profession, but need to spend some of my time maintaining my largish house, and the land and outbuilding that go with it. I need help in the house and garden , so that I can spend more time doing maintenance jobs and projects. If you had good computer skills, that would also be helpful. In return I would be happy to take you to many of my local places of interest. So if you are friendly and sociable, and able to prepare an occasional meal, I would like you to consider this opportunity for a visit of at least four weeks. ( Two months would be even better) If required I would also be happy to spend time assisting you to improve your English Language skills. ie pronunciation, grammer, & vocabulary. However you would need to already have sufficient spoken English for simple day to day conversation. You could also come with me when I visit my friendly "local pub" where you would meet and could talk to other local people. PLEASE NOTE, I AM ONLY ABLE TO HOST ONE VOLUNTEER AT A TIME AND WILL NOT HOST SMOKERS.

As I dont run a business, the help involved would be varied and would also depend on the weather and the time of the year. Your tasks could be arranged to suit your skills, interests, and preferences. In the spring & summer your routine work would involve, the greenhouse, flowers ,lawns, & caring for the chickens. However as I enjoy "good " food, it would be useful if you have an interest and skill in cooking, as preparing an occasional meal would be very helpful.
A 4 bedroom, (one en suite) House, with 2 living rooms, (both with Tvs), 2 kitchens , a laundry room , main bathroom, a seperate shower room, and a downstairs loo. You would have your own study/bedroom & be sharing the main bathroom with a female lodger who normally has exclusive use of this facility.
My House is near to Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwick, Worcester & the Cotswolds. Although you would be in a rural location, there are local train services from nearby stations & there are also main line services to London from Solihull and Birmingham International stations. The journey time to London is no more than 90 minutes and a return off peak ticket is about £20. However I will take you to see all the "local" places of interest (ie Stratford upon avon, Alcester & Birmingham) and places that tourists never find ! ! The local pub, where I go to meet friends & have a chat, is very relaxed & has its own small brewery. I would help you to visit all of the above places, as required, & time permiting. The right person would have a fun time here !
