I've just moved into a 500 year old cottage in the heart of Dartmoor (Widecombe-in-the-Moor), it is in good condition (for it's age) but does need some attention, so I am looking for folk who can contribute towards; decorating, gardening, house chores, sanding, DIY etc, no previous experience or skills necessary just a willingness to learn and work.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

There is one double bedroom and an additional two single bedrooms.

Food - I cook a range of foods, from traditional English dishes to Indian curries. I eat meat but can go veggie.

I would love to try/learn new dishes if you can cook?

Length of stay - I'm sorry but I cannot accommodate long stays as I intend to go away for short trips throughout the summer, ideally 1-3 weeks at a time dates depending.

Dartmoor is an amazing place with breath taking scenery, satisfying walks, medieval pubs and free roaming ponies. Home to one of the oldest civilisations in Europe it has many Neolithic ruins, legends and unique local culture that can be easily missed.

Dartmoor is an amazing place with breath taking scenery, satisfying walks, medieval pubs and free roaming ponies. Home to one of the oldest civilisations in Europe it has many Neolithic ruins, legends and unique local culture that is often missed by the foreign visitor.

I'm happy to take my visitors on trips and walks around Dartmoor, and to the south is the South Hams with rolling hills, market towns and beaches. Torquay, Exeter and Plymouth provide nightlife if required. Though I would be willing to tailor activities to suit my visitor/s.

A lot of the moorland is 'Common Land' and so camping is free and fun.

I also use to be an English Teacher (as a foreign language), so if you would like to learn or improve your English then I am happy to help.

Quite, clean, friendly, atmospheric, remote (ish), peaceful, good beer and beautiful would summarise Dartmoor to me.
