Well, that's always an easy task to describe myself because this is the subject I know the best, but still. It might take you a while to read my entire life so I will try to specify as many things as possible in the less words possible.

So my name is Hervé and I am a "just over thirty year old"french guy who lives his life with passion and do things by love or rage. I have to admit I need to live things to the full, otherwise I feel bored.

I have been a stonemason (could be blocklayer or bricklayer also plasterer in english, could be Maurer in german, Albanil in spanish, Pedreiro in portuguese) for 15 years now and this is one of the best choices I could have ever made in my life. Building houses, working on castles and cathedrals really helps to build yourself up and realise that you are far from perfection. Quality needs time so I try to compensate my lack of experience by learning as many things as I can about my job, reading full of books about construction. But when I talk about construction there is a word you need to take away from your brain. This word is cement. I dream of a world without cement, where people only need what they have in their yard, in the closest field or in the forest just by the river. I am totally for a life off the grid, where buildings blend in Nature, where the energy comes from no lines, and veges don't grow with Monsanto.

I know, this sounds a bit extrem, but our world is extrem as well and I still don't have too many words to describe myself. But yeah I love my job and I think he loves me.

An other part of my life that has been really important for me is about the world and the ways to discover it.
If you read these lines, it means that you are travelling or about to. You just need to know that I will do my really best to make you feel as confortable in my house as I could have been with some people around the world by couchsurfing or only by chance. And when I talk about confortable I dont tell you about a nice matress or a good food. Of course it has to be in the plan, but these are not the things you will remember from people you met while traveling. You will be my guest, but in you I know I can meet a friend. So I will treat you as I treat my friends, with respect, good talks and beers. If you don't like beers that's fine I can make tea. If you dont like tea, well, feel like home, help yourself and prepare whatever you wanna drink! Am not your dad ;-)
Travels made me understand that my family is important to me, that I grew up in a wonderful place, that racism should'nt exist, that a smile can change a life and that our planet is in a state of emergency...

That directly leads us to the third big thing about me, which is the result of my two life experience that are my job and my travels: Ecology. Well, I don't really like this word, but it is factual that everybody will get the general sense of it. I have my own definition of ecology and I invite you to talk about it around a beer, a cup of tea or whatever you wanna drink. In 2015, I decided to walk from my little town in south of France to Paris for the UN conference about climate change. I slowly but surely walked a 1000 km on the sides of the roads but the particularity of this militant action was that I pulled a 140 liters trash bin all along to fill it with trashes that I picked up on the ground. With my Lola, we made up statistics by sorting the all 38.057 trash parts...It was a piece of experience, and for the first time in my life I felt useful to my world and my society. I had this idea on the roads of south america,I made it in my own country and I probably won't be able to stop cleaning the world until the end of my life. Eventhough I know cleaning is not the solution so, with my friends and the inhabitants of the future world ,we all gunna find a solution to change the destiny and pull hard on the wheeldriver to avoid that big wall in front of us, which is probably made out of CEMENT!!!

After reading all these words you have two choices: Either you think that I am crazy and decide to click on a new add or you think that I am crazy and decide to stay on that page because you are like me and don't judge people before meeting them.

So yeah!! If you wanna hop on the adventure of life, then keep reading about my projects. I only hope I am not gunna lose half of the people who took the B option...because in fact if you really want to join me for a few days or even more you definitely need to type in your request the name of my girlfriend Lola, at least twice. If you don't I consider that you haven't read my profile and you probably just need a place to crash. I am neither a sofa nor a free food machine. So, to end my description in a bunch of fireworks, I need to tell you a bit about Lola, who has been supporting me for the last seven years and still is my source of power. We live together and she will treat you the same as I will so I expect from you the same. But don't worry, she is strong enough to have no need of a "nearly 100 kg boyfriend". She has got a strong character, knows how to handle bees, has her wheelbarrow's driver's license, is from corsica, put you on the ground and break any part of you...well probably not but still!!! She is the best choice I have ever made in my life, so I can tell you, if I can't regret having met her, then you won't neither!

I can speak three languages: French, english and spanish so feel free to use any of those three.

Well well well. I think I said everything about that subject up there. But I still hope you will benefit from a cultural exchange. If you don't learn anything while you are traveling then you'll never learn.

Ok! Let's start the deal and let's try to be more specific about that!

When I say I am a stonemason, that means that I am a builder. I can build out of mud, mortar, lime, stones, wood, trashes, concrete, bricks, blocks and some other stuffs I forgot. I can also be apparented to a carpenter, a roofer, a plasterer...

I work alone so I need to make all the steps by myself, and because I have been working by myself for years, I have my own rules and habits.
I will be glad to tell you everything about my job, share with you a bit of my knowledge and show you how to do and how to make. I like to make sure that everything is clear before we start working together to avoid any problem. That's why you need to tell me if you didn't get any thing. Really do it, don't feel shy, I will be glad to explain again. If you wait the time we began to tell me you got it wrong or even worse if I clearly see that you havent payed attention, then you lose a point. As soon as you lose a point you will get me angry, and you surely dont want to have an angry stonemason around you.

You dont have to be afraid of me, of course, but I just don't like when people waste my time while I am working. You will probably see that, but when I work, I am concentrated so I will expect from you the same level of focus, and even more because this is not your job.
But don't worry I have plenty of other things to achieve out of my job. It means that you can also be the one who knows better than me. Then I will be glad to learn from you.
If you are a stonemason or feel like this way, then I hope you will enjoy the stay as much as I love my job.

Most of the work we have to get through is in a 350 years old house in Oraison that I have been restoring for years.

I will need either force labour on a construction project or cookers. Either a driver or a gardener. If you're a geek, that could be reallyyyy useful, if you're a cook I will probably consider you as friend even before knowing you.
Either way, all these projects have a constant thinking turned on the better comprehension of our environment and a stronger respect of our biodiversity.

That leads us to the final project you might also be part of and where I put all my strength and passion.
In 2015, Lola and I decided to give birth to a small environmentalist association. In 2015 we walked from Aix-en-Provence to Paris, in 2016 we are starting to build some furnitures made for energy independance at home out of trashes and old useless stuffs. That could be cutting glass bottles to make a cool wall, building a solar dryer, a solar oven, a windmill, a compost...whatever can be done with the pieces we saved from the trash! Then we can educate the kids and raise awareness to the citizens, fight the industry and win the respect of governments!!!wow that's strong! I surely do care too much about that part of my life!!

I will expect from you 4 or 5 hours of participation per day 5 days on 7.
You will get a roof over your head and a bed under your head. (Now try to repeat this sentence as many times as you can, as fast as you can in your head).
You will get provided food and water everyday, shower, laundry and XXL premium chillout times.
WIFI is unlimited and downloading forbidden.
I will also need to see one of your ID or passport. I can show you mine, there is no worry ;-)
We usually think that a week is a sufficient period of time to see if we all get along well. So I cannot tell you that I will host you for sure for 1 or 2 months. Unless it is all planned arround a big project. But during real life, a week is a good start.

I don't mind if you sometimes feel like an alcoholic because you really like this bottle of rhum on the table. I don't mind if you feel happy anytime you hear the sound of Bob on air and decide to roll something.
I do mind if that may drive you into troubles, that's all. You are grown up people, you know your limits, just don't cross them while I am hosting you.

Well I have to warmly advise you to open a guide book about Provence or Aix-en-Provence or even google it before your feet land in my zone if you don't want to be schoked by the beauty of my region.
But if you like surprises just don't open anything and come over.
Both cases I will tell you anything you need to know.
Bus transportation is good: in front of the door in Puyricard and somewhere not that far in Oraison.
