    Description

We are a community-run, non-profit farm growing organic vegetables and fruit for 150+ households in Leamington Spa and the surrounding area. There are approx 10 acres of field vegetables, 2 acre orchard and 7 large polytunnels. We were established by and for the local community to provide sustainable and organic food in harmony with nature, with people not profit at the core.

We are one of the UK's most successful Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) projects with a membership of over 150 households. We provide a "share" of vegetables and fruit all year round and do not buy anything in from other farms, so our members get to enjoy truly seasonal produce every week of the year. We are a good place to visit if you are interested in alternative forms of community-based food production, especially CSAs. We have a small staff team but are supported by regular volunteers from the community which makes us a very sociable place to volunteer.

We host one 2-week "volunteer camp" per year, when we will have up to 8 volunteers staying on site, so although there is no host family as such at the site, there will be other volunteers so it is very sociable! This year our volunteer camp will be from 11th - 23rd June 2018. If you are interested please apply early as spaces tend to fill up quickly!

*️️*️️*️️UPDATE*️️*️️*️️ (1/6/18): due to late cancellations we still have spaces for the volunteer camp, please get in touch if you would like to attend.

We are a community organisation so community is at the heart of everything we do. Volunteers will get to spend time not just with farm workers and volunteers but also our entire community of 200+ people! You will get to know an entirely different way of producing food that has people at the heart of it. You will also of course learn about organic growing, and learn all sorts of different skills about growing plants and growing food.

You will be camping. Please bring you own tent and sleeping bag if you can. If this is not possible please contact us in advance and we will provide these things. There is a small caravan and a barn on the site for volunteers to use as a dry comfortable space for socialising etc. There is also a fire pit for a camp fire.

There is a small kitchen on the site for your use. You can help yourself to breakfast of porridge, muesli and bread; there will be bread and soup for lunch; and we will provide food for you to cook in the evening. Volunteers will organise amongst the group a rota for cooking the evening meal, and whoever is responsible for cooking may finish farm work early.

    What else ...

Leamington Spa is in central England and close to many tourist attractions. The town itself is beautiful and is also a short journey away from the major cities of Birmingham and Coventry. Shakespeare's birthplace, Stratford-Upon-Avon is very close by, as is the historic town of Warwick and the world famous Warwick Castle.

The farm is accessible by bus and we provide bicycles for you to cycle into the town; it is also not too far to walk.

There is no internet connection on site. We hope that in many ways this will enrich your experience staying here. However this may be a big challenge for many people so please ensure you can cope without the World Wide Web before you come to us!
