Description
Hi there, we are Stephanie & Andy and we have a smallholding here on the outskirts of Vila do Bispo, which is near the west coast of the Algarve.
We moved here 16 years ago and have developed an organic vegetable garden. We have three cats that were not invited but seem to think we are here to look after them.
We are looking for people who can help us with the house and garden. There is always weeding to be done, hedges to be cut and general repairs around the place.
Vila do Bispo is a very Portuguese town and you will have the opportunity to meet the locals. There is a daily market where a good range of organic produce is sold and of course cafes serving delicious coffee. One of the busiest surf areas in mainland Europe, the area is also excellent for walking, climbing and kite surfing. Regular buses take you to Lagos and Sagres although there is not a late night bus for getting back!
Accommodation is in a caravan and you will prepare your own meals (we supply basic food).
We prefer couples, but if you are handy with repairs then one person is fine too.

People that stay with us get to experience the real Portugal. Vila do Bispo is a friendly community town with lots of facilities and we have amazing beaches all around us. In the Summer, volunteers will meet people from all walks of life and nationalities. They will have plenty of time spent with the animals in natural surroundings.

Help
There are many projects to help on here. Including extending the chickens coop, helping us to develop the outbuildings, and the constant work on the vegetable garden, caused by our mild climate and you will of course be able to eat the fruits of your labour.

Accommodation
Caravan with electric light, gas hob and a small refrigerator. We will take you shopping for basic food which you prepare yourself. The shower is based in our house, accessed by our back door.

This is a small project so the candidate would probably on their own but it is a vibrant surfing area with many surf camps in the vicinity so loads of opportunity to make friends
