Description
Hi, my name is Maria, I have relocated from Ireland to Australia. I still love to work with horses and volunteer with RDA Sunshine Coast. I have family living nearby but would like some help at home with the garden and some small maintenance jobs (okay some not that small) - I like a challenge!

You must love horses.
Volunteers must be physically fit, willing to work and have suitable clothing.
We are happy to match the volunteers work to their skills. Working with horses and maintenance of the farm would be the major activities.
We like you to learn as much as possible about breeding, feeding, stable management, foaling and veterinary matters. This is the reason that we would like you to stay a minimum of 8 weeks or longer.
You must have your own insurance.
We are 2 km to the next village (Emly) and 12 km to the next town (Tipperary).
There is no bus but we have a bike.
We can offer a lift on market days.

Though I arrived at a difficult and heartbreaking time, I learned a lot and gained lots of experience with horses. Matilde is a sunny youg women who likes to laugh a lot.During her stay all horses were in the fields day and night so there was little work with them.So she painted 2 stables,did a bit of gardening and coked meals and cakes.

I was here during one of the busiest periods (March, April, May), when all the foals were born and the mares going to stud. Now I'm a few weeks back home and already started missing Georg, Maria and all their lovely animals. For me it was a perfect stay, working with the foals all day, enjoying Maria's food and Georg's stories. They're all very kind and open hearted, I learnt a lot about hunting, racing and breeding.
