    Description

We are organic farmers. Kim, Malaysian Chinese and Michael from the UK. We have been farming for almost 10 years. Our farm is located amongst Malay villages (kampung), with the sound of their goats and cattle often to be heard. We raise poultry (mainly chickens and ducks, with a few geese and other birds). We have around thirty types of fruit, including local favourites such as jack fruit, bananas, star fruit, papaya, guava, rambutan, limes, passion fruit and mulberries. Our durian are much sought after when in season! When time permits, we grow greens, including cabbages, cauliflowers, various beans, melons and gourds, herbs and salad, as well as ginger and turmeric.
We seek help with the routine work so we are able to start new projects and carry out maintenance. The farm is difficult to reach without a car or motorbike. There is a bus to the ferry terminal to Georgetown, but this takes a couple of hours. We are open to discuss arrangements with volunteers, but would prefer them to be at the farm most days. We envisage the most two volunteers at any one time. We provide communal sleeping and showering facilities (separate to our own). We provide basic cooking facilities and food. Because of the need to become familiar with the farm, we ask volunteers to stay at least 21 days. We would welcome those wishing to stay longer.

Do feel free to be in touch to discuss arrangements for your stay, or anything else!
