    Description

We are a horse livery and sheep farm with around 25–30 horses at any one time, most of which are kept at grass on our hill ground. Our horses are barefoot (no shoeing) and we practice intelligent horsemanship - our focus being on lots of gentle training, producing calm, well-balanced horses.

We are on the west coast of Scotland, right alongside the water amidst beautiful mountain scenery - with lovely walks, riding trails and a great local pub. Public transport is sparse but we are often running errands to town so you are more than welcome to tag along should you wish to explore further afield.

If you are seeking to improve your horsemanship skills there is also ample opportunity to do so, with regular clinics and lessons constantly happening. More detail can be found on our website.

As a working farm there is an endless supply of various tasks that need to be completed, but most importantly we would be looking for someone to assist with the horses. We need help bringing them down from the hill, with mucking out, filling hay nets, grooming and any other related aspects of assisting a livery yard. We would prefer someone who has at least basic experience handling horses, as much of this work needs to be completed independently. If you are a rider there will be plenty of opportunities to do so as well, either in our arenas or exploring the beautiful countryside. Please keep in mind that this area of Scotland can be wet and windy, so please be prepared for those kinds of conditions!

We are looking for a minimum of 4–5 hours a day, 5 days a week - but as we are a working farm, any extra help you may like to provide will be greatly appreciated! We can be very flexible about when you would like to take your time off, please just speak with us about what you need. We want to make sure everyone is comfortable!
