    Description

    Hi workawayers !

We are a Belgian couple, Johan and Nastja and have two kids, Myrko (18) and Tika (15).Johan is an experienced gardener and musician, Nastja is a jewelrydesigner and loves to cook and the kids love to explore the miracles of life and making new friends.

We came here in 1997. Since then, our garden grew every year with a lot of work to be done.

In 2012 our garden was destroyed by forest fires.
The whole garden was gone, all trees, fruit trees, vegetables and plant species.
Fortunately we were safe and so was our house.

Now, 10 years later, we have used a lot of energy to start allover again. It was hard and heavy but with some good help we managed. We also have ideas for a new project, starting an eco-camping...

We are for the moment looking for experienced helpers.

Heavy jobs need to be done, moving stones, making new terraces, digging out trees and planting new ones. We need people that have experience in gardening, wood-and metal construction and welding. We also need people that know how to work on their own, because me and my husband also need time for our other jobs.

Day by day jobs in our garden include seed sowing; weeding; digging; growing and care of food-producing and other plants.
We work during weekdays, more or les five hours per day, some days might be more, all depending on the project we are working on

We live very remote. No city life around the corner. The village is a 40 min walk away.
In weekends you can go explore the rest of the island. There is busconnection to other parts of the island, unfortunately not so many.

Wie will ask you to work hard but we can also party hard and we can teach you a lot about about fruits and vegetables, transforming them into compost, food, wine, and other things that make life more comfortable and about enjoying the gifts of nature!

    Welcome !

We would like you to work with us during the week, minimal 5 hours a day. Although the hours and days are flexible, as things we do always depend on the weather and on how work advances. We really need people that are interested in what they are doing.
This means for us; willing to work hard during the week,
smart enough to identify seedlings whilst taking out the bad weeds, willing to keep on going if things have to be done.
